Today I thought I would try to brighten Melissa’s day with some flowers, for no other reason then I love her.

Today’s picture of the day is the kids playing video games at the table. Violet on her DS, and Jacob playing a Wii game on his WiiU Gamepad. It was fun to watch the two of them playing quietly.

We started our day off with the kids hockey practice, Jacob at 8 and Violet at 9. Today’s picture of the day is of Violet waiting to hit the ice for her practice. It was fun to watch the kids at their different practices. They both try so hard and it always amazes me how much better they have gotten over the course of the season.

Today after hockey we did some shopping with Aunty Suzanne and Nat. Violet adores Nate so I had to use this picture of the two of them for today’s picture of the day .

This morning after breakfast the kids got to open their Valentine’s presents from Melissa and me. It was fun to watch them opening them up.

Tonight before the kids headed off to bed we sat down and wrote out Valentine’s for their classes. It was fun to watch them each filling out the cards for their classmates.

Tonight after dinner the kids cleared the table, and out came the Monopoly Junior. It was fun sitting around the table as a family playing a board game. I really think we should do it more often. I wonder what game we will play next time.

Today the kids brought home their report cards, it’s the first year where we don’t have a parent teach conference to go with the report card. My picture of the day is from Violet’s report card. I think it’s of our family or maybe her friends. I didn’t get a chance to ask her as I got home after she was in bed tonight. Both kids had great report cards, I’m so proud of how both of them embrace school. I hope they never loose the love of school and learning.

For weeks I’ve tried to kick-start my blog, my Musings are a start, but I also want to get back to writing about Technology and Fatherhood. I had hopped that we I published my first Tech Tuesday post on January 14th that I would be following it up with another one the next week and it would be the beginning of a weekly series. I’ve been working on the follow-up since before the Kobo review was posted, unfortunately I’ve yet to complete it. It’s close, I could have probably pushed it out last night, but after the evening of skating with Jacob’s Beaver troop I didn’t feel up to it, and besides It will be a better post with the extra time I can now spend on it. That left me with a dilemma for today, I could just forget about posting today, or hope that I’m inspired to write something on the way to work, like yesterday or I could do something different. I’ve chosen something different. I thought I’d go over some of the Hardware and Software that I use everyday, but that’s a long list. One I might do on a future Tech Tuesday, for today I thought I’d highlight 3 gadgets that I took on vacation with me(I’ll leave out the few gadgets Melissa brought).

Today Jacob’s Beavers Troop headed to the outdoor Ice Path for some skating. I’ve chosen this picture of Jacob as waits for the other beavers to hit the ice. It was fun to watch him and his friends playing around on the ice. He had so much fun he didn’t want to leave. Even the possibility of heading to Tim Hortons for a treat afterwards wouldn’t get him off the ice.
