One of the challenges with taking and posting a picture every day is that some days you just don’t take any pictures. Today was like that, in the past I would take some random thing in the house, a piece of tech or kids drawing, but today I’ve decided to do something different. Today I’ve decided to go back into my archives and choose a picture that I took on this day, February 5, 2016. When going through my photos I found this picture of a tree covered with lights. It was taken outside the Living Arts centre in Mississauga after the kid’s Taekwondo classes. I’m supprised I hadn’t shared it before.
Today we have a picture of our mischievous cat. We caught this shot of her in one of Violet’s drawers. As cute as it is it probably wouldn’t have been my POD if it was for the fact that she opened it herself, so that she could sit in it.
The hockey regular season wrapped up last week, so it’s on to the play-offs and play-downs. Today we had the ice for our first playoff game. Of course you need an opponent to play a game, and our opponent were unable to play this weekend, so we had a rare Saturday practice.
Tonight Violet had hockey training with TDHA at the CAA Centre. Usually they practice on the community rinks, but today they were on the big rink, where the Beast play. I think my picture might exaggerate how big the ice is. It was another great lesson for our hockey diva. If you are looking for a good hockey school you should look at TDHA
After we went for pizza and they all left their equipment at my car, If you drive an expensive car, you need an awesome looking cargo boxes like Thule if considering extra storage for get aways. A cheap cargo box will make you car look like crap! it is better to take a better deal.
To start a new year of the picture of the day posts, we have a picture of Violet of violet practising her science project before school this morning. She worked so hard on her project, researching facts about the sun and writing it up, before putting her poster together.
Today I return to my blog. I’ve wanted to return to blogging for a while, but I just never seem to have the time. Sure January 1st seems like the more traditional time to reboot my blog, but it didn’t work for me this year. Besides resolutions never seem to work, and starting on January first would have felt like a resolution. I know that once you I get back into the rhythm of posting I can keep it up. I managed to post a Picture a day for over 5 years. I can do it again.
So why February 1st? Well, there are only 28 days in February. If I can post a picture each day for just 28 days I have hit my first month. It might be a silly reason, but I want to get back to posting and have any reason to start helps. Beyond that, I liked it starting on a Friday, weekends are easier for pictures, even if we have no hockey games this weekend. Plus it gives me a few days to write my post for Monday.
So what does my return to blogging look like? I don’t know yet. First will be the posting of my picture of the day, starting tonight I will share a photo each day. Beyond that, I am planning to write some posts about different things that interest me. My goal is to post 3 a week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Of course, the writing will depend on me finding the time to write, but I’m hoping that with a little bit of effort I’ll be able to get back into it. That is if I can focus on actually writing and not redesigning the look of my bog.
So stay tuned, you should be seeing a lot of new things here in the coming weeks.
Today I found myself wandering around downtown when I saw this in a little parkette. It looks quite impressive, but I couldn’t figure out if it was supposed to be a Fountain or a Splash pad for kids to play in.
I knew Jacob enjoyed his Starbucks before school (Apple juice and Chocolate Chunk cookie) but I didn’t know just how much. He seems really proud of his new Gold Starbucks card.
As the summer winds down it’s time to start planning for the fall. So out come the poster board, markers and before you know it we have a calendar of all our family activities for the coming month.
Today while walking Ruby I saw a rainbow stretching across the sky. I tried to capture it for my picture of the day, but I don’t think it does it justice.
