Bridge Eaters from Sam Javanrouh on Vimeo.
Today I thought I’d share this video I found on http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/ It’s amazing to watch as the bridge comes down. Though as a driver who passes under where that bridge was occasionally, the construction has been a real pain.

Yesterday at school the kids in the playground were playing with something called Silly Bandz, they are little plastic wristbands that are also shapes. Jacob really wanted to get some of his own, so this morning mommy took the kids on a quest for them. Unfortunately they were sold out. So Nan took the search to more stores, but also came back empty-handed. Then it was time for Daddy to come to the rescue. On my way home I stopped off at a Mastermind that had some in stock. I got a few sets, but Jacob’s instant favourite was the alphabet.

Today our little angel got her hands on one of Jacob’s school markers. The results weren’t pretty, though at times it was hard not to giggle, specially when the bath water turned blue while cleaning her up, I thought I was in an episode of Max and Ruby. We’re thinking we might have to pack the markers completely away, Jacob’s just to prone to leave them out after he’s done colouring with them.

Todays mobile Monday application is Quick Settings. It’s an all-in-one settings application for Android. With support for a ton of settings including, Mobile Data, GPS, Brightness and more. Being able to quickly turn on or off systems on your phone can really extend battery life. There are plenty of widgets that can place similar controls on the home screens, but I’ve never liked them. I like the ease of access them through Notification or long press of the search button. Going back to the home screen just to enable Data or GPS seemed clunky to me. So the quick access this app provides is great. It’s easy to customize interface allows you to only show the settings that you use.

Today at Jacob’s skating lesson Violet continued her quest to get on the ice. I’m thinking we really need to find her a pair of skates.

I snapped this picture of the growing mound of food at the Weight Watchers Applewood Village Plaza location, part of the Lose for Good program. It’s growing every week, they are trying to collect a pound of food for each pound lost over 7 weeks. That could be a lot of food. For anyone wondering, I have been going to weight watchers, I know I haven’t really been sharing, I’m not sure why. It just seems I haven’t been posting about it. Though that will be changing soon I’m working of some posts about my weight lose journey and hope to start them up in the next couple of weeks.

Today Jacob came home with a surprise in his school bag, he received a Good Character Award. It was nice to see, Jacob had some separation anxiety when he started in his SK class. This award is a sign that he’s working passed it and has started to thrive in the new class. It has been a bit of a challenge at times, watching him struggle, not knowing how to help. Melissa and I did what we could and it’s great to see that it’s working.

Today Melissa and I popped into Old Navy looking for a new running shirt. While there we noticed the jeans were on sale, so I thought I would try on a pair. The surprising thing I found was that my waist was down to a 34, back in august I was inspired when I picked up jeans with a 36 waist. So tonight I find myself once again inspired by the waist size of a new pair. The most amazing thing is recently I was cleaning out the closet getting ride of some old clothes and found myself getting rid of a pair of pants with a 44 waist. These were pants I wore last year, and now I’m in a 34. It’s just amazing, but enough blogging for tonight I need to head out for a run…

Tonight before Jacob went to bed he wanted to build something. So we pulled out his Lego draw and build a castle, inner tower, Wall and a couple of out buildings. It was a lot of fun. It’s so nice to be able to sit and play with my little guy. He’s growing up so fast, and I really don’t want to miss the little moments. I wonder what type of moments I will share with Violet? Will she want to build a castle? Have a tea party? I’m sure I’ll find out much to quickly.

Today Jacob came home from school with a bunch of exercises for him to do at home. There are 4 sheets each with a different letter for him to practice writing. Part of me things it’s strange that a kindergartener is getting homework but another part is glad, especially when I watch Melissa sit with out still man and work on it. I just seems like a perfect little moment.
