I’m not sure if the picture really does Jacob’s shirt justice, but I couldn’t resist this as the picture of the day. You see when Jacob came home from school she shirt was covered in paint. The teach told my mom who picked up our little guy that he wearing a smock… it was just backwards.
Today was a strange day for me, you see yesterday I put out my back. That’s not a big deal but today it was worse so I went to a local walk-in clinic, just to be safe. Well it’s probably just a muscle Strain bur he proscribed a anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant for the pain. I have to say they worked, but I spent half the day passed out.
Today’s picture is of our TV, well of the growing patch of dead pixels on our less than 2 years old TV. I’ve spoken with Sony about and they told me I need to get it looked at see what it will cost to fix… It will probably cost more tl fix then we aid for it new, but we need to have it examined by a qualified tech before Sony will give us a deal on a new tv. I have to problems with this, the first is I have to pay to have the tv looked at. Then pay for a new TV. The second is do I want another Sony Tv after this one failed in less than 2 years? TVs are supposed to last, so do I go down the Sony path see what type of deal I can get from them or cut my loses and get a new tv from a different maker?
Today I spent the morning at a clients re-setting up their corrupted profile. The last task was to configure the shared Dot-Matrix printer to print using the LPT port. It’s needed for their legacy systems. The process got me wondering how hard would it be when they upgrade there aging Windows XP machines to set up there legacy application with their legacy printers?
It’s a day late but here is myself portrait for October, I ment to get one with the kids yesterday but it didn’t work out. So here I am sitting at my desk working way. It amuses me that I’m wearing the same shirt as my last self-portrait from September 30 (Project 365-273: Looking in the Mirror 9). It’s also clear that I really need to find time to get a haircut and maybe a proper shave.
Today we have a simple app that I sometimes forget I have installed on my phone. CallTrack can record every call you Make, Receive or Miss to a Google calendar. The event shows who you called and for how long you talked. For me it’s probably a little silly, I don’t need to track my usage that much, but if I used my cell for more business calls it would be really useful. For now it’s just something cool my phone does.
Today was Halloween and so the kids dressed up and headed out to get candy. The night was clear but cold. The cold forced us to change Violet’s costume from the Ladybug or Bumblebee to Jacob’s old Lion. Though I have to say she looked adorable in it.
The evening was a great success though it was interesting to watch Violet as she approached different houses. Some times she would charge up to the door, others she hung back clinging to mommy or daddy like a shy little thing. Of course most of our trick or treating took place after 7 which is her usual bed time so that added to the fun. We ended up taking her home early and putting her to bed before Jacob and the candy got home. This had the benefit that we didn’t have her trying to get at it before we had a chance to separate all the candy with peanuts or nuts. I can see that might be a bit of a challenge in the years to come.
Tonight Jacob did the cutest thing. For some reason he wanted to do the dishes. So I set him up at the sink and let him at it. He did a pretty good job but after about a half a sink he’d had enough. I think I might be able to get a complete sink next time 😉
Today our little family headed out to do a little shopping. While there Violet showed us what she wants for christmas. Perhaps we’ll let Santa know so he can put it under the tree.
Today Melissa and I spent the evening putting together Halloween bags for the kids of Jacob class. It seems so strange, its times like this that make me really think about how fast my little guy is growing up.
