Geek With Kids

Today I found some time to take the kids to the local splash pad, I’ve captured them waiting for the water to come back on. We were out there when Melissa got home from work and it got Melissa and I talking about how great our summer has been. Whats great is how much we are doing as a family, from our Camping trip, to evenings at the local pool. It’s been a great summer and I will be sad when it ends in a few weeks. Till then we have lots of  fun family adventures planned and I intent to enjoy each of them to the fullest.

Today Melissa and Jacob spent the day out on an adventure. First to the toy store where Jacob picked out a few new Cars. Followed by some back to school shopping and topped off with an after noon at the movies. They saw the Smurfs movie and both seemed to like it… perhaps I’ll have to take Violet to see it.

Today we celebrated the birthday of our niece Sofia. I really enjoy celebrating these milestones, kids seem to be growing up so fast. The party was at Balls of Fun, and the kids loved it. Jacob is already saying he wants his birthday their next year 🙂

Today was a work at home day and instead of spending the day in the house a bit before lunch we headed out to our local library. I was there to pick up a book I had on hold, the kids took the opportunity to find a book for themselves.

Another day another evening with the kids outside. Today they had the bikes out, and I snapped this picture of Violet as she tried to catch up with Jacob and some other kids.

The kids spent the evening playing in the park and I captured this picture of Violet swinging at the top of the little slide.

Tonight I thought I’d do something a little different for dinner, and did up some Shish Kabobs for me and the kids.

Today my mom took Jacob off to church, so Melissa and I thought it would be a good time to head out to Walmart. So off the three of us went, bracing the TTC without a stroller. By the time we reached Walmart we realised the real benefit of strollers on outings. Our little girl was tuckered out and needed to snooze. So we grabbed a pillow and a cart and let her sleep while we did our shopping.
