Today while walking to a special lunch for Jacob, he asked for sushi. We saw some people from the city testing the local splash pad. It’s nice to see them getting it ready for summer, I know our little family will be spending many afternoons enjoying it.
A friend posted this video on Facebook this afternoon, and I knew I had to share it on my blog. I can’t even guess how many hours I played this game as a kid, but watching it now it has a much more of an emotional reaction then I expected. My figures are twitching, I want to try playing it again. While looking for an image for my C64 emulator I found this re-make from 2003 (http://aztecaqueen.com/), enjoy. One note the re-make isn’t suitable for children.
Today Violet had an adventure with Nana and Mommy. The three of them headed off to square one where Violet finally got her hair cut. I took this when The family met up with me near my work, trying to capture the hair cut for today’s picture of the day.
It seems our trees have been cut down, well mostly. Looking at the picture of took of their stumps I can’t help but think I should get into their and clean out the weeds.
As the summer approaches, the summer sports begin. Saturday was Jacob’s first T-Ball game, tonight was his second. I tried to capture a good picture on Saturday, but I didn’t capture any I liked. So tonight I made sure to get at least one I could use as my picture of the day.
Today was Violet’s first visit to the dentist. I took this near the beginning of the appoint, though after a little while she settled down and let the hygienist and dentist take a look at her teeth. They even managed to clean her front teeth.
Today I headed out for my long run. It ended up being just under 16km, what was great is that I changed up my route. Instead of just running around on the local streets I headed down through Colonel Samuel Smith Park, along the lake-shore to Marie Curtis Park and up Etobicoke Valley, before finishing along my normal road route. As I was running I captured a few picture, but settled on this one in the Etobicoke Valley park to show one of the reasons I love to run.
Today was my birthday and to celebrate Melissa and the kids made cupcakes. It wouldn’t seem right if I didn’t use a picture of me with my wonderful cupcakes for my picture of the day today. I also want to thank everyone for the kind birthday wishes.
The weather was so nice after dinner tonight, I couldn’t say no when the kids asked to play outside. It was fun being out there with the kids. I am amused when Jacob does things like I captured today. As a parent I think he shouldn’t be doing that, what if he falls. Though there is a part of me that knows when I was a kid I would have been all over that. Of course when he did it on the high slide in the big playground the other day, I was more concerned then I was today.
Today I found myself standing at the front of a subway car, and I just had to take a picture. I was like a little kid standing there looking out the window as we raced up the Young line. So when I sat down to post today’s picture of the day I had no choice but to use one of the many images I captured.
