Violet heads to her second overnight camp of the summer. This is her usually overnight camp. This is the 4th time she’s gone. The second time it’s for 2 weeks. I know she’ll have a blast, but I’m a little sad that we won’t see her for another two weeks, and when she’s back summer is pretty much over.

Today we celebrated the last day of summer vacation with a trip to a local park. While Violet played with her friend at the water park and playground Jacob headed out into the lake.

Today we headed down to the CNE for a day of family fun. It was hot and crowded but the kids seemed to enjoy the day. I didn’t manage t try the Spagetti and Meatball burger, but did have the Thanksgiving waffle.

Today I headed to the local outdoor pool with the kids for some swimming fun. After swimming around a bit it Jacob insisted that we shouldn’t leave till Violet had at least tried the deep end test. Violet wasn’t interested in going to the deep end, but agreed to do the test. A test she passed, even with the addition of a minute treading water.  Of course after that we spent most of our time in the deep end. I was so proud of her. of course I’m also amused by the fact that though I have the freedom to head to the deep end I don’t think I could past the tests the kids have to.

Today on the way to swimming we cut through the kids school playground,  while there Violet wanted to show off monkey bar ability. She is getting so much better,  though she is still only getting 2 or three bars across.  Jacob was happy to show her how it’s done. Of course it wasn’t that long ago that he couldn’t have gone more then a few bars.

Last night we had a small water balloon fight,  the kids loved it. So today before dinner we filled up another batch of water balloons and the water guns and had at it.  The kids loved it and so did I.  I had fotgoten how much fun water fights could be.  I don’t think that will be our last water fight this summer.

Our family has hit the summer running, with a weekend filled with activity. We don’t plan on stopping, and to make sure we’ve put together a list of fun things we plan on doing this summer.
