Tonight The lady’s of the house headed to the nail salon to get their nails done. It was so cute how excited Violet was to get her nails done.

Today the NHL season began with the Maple Leafs versus the Canadians. So I grabbed a beer and watched the Maple Leafs lose their first game 4-3.

I came home to a bit of a surprise tonight, Melissa had mad us a Shepherds Pie, with Lamb instead of beef. It was amazing, the only negative was the kids wouldn’t try it. Of course that really isn’t a negative, as it means more for me.

Another Sunday afternoon at the dog park with Ruby. For the first part of our visit there were no other dogs, and Ruby happily chased her toy. Even after some dogs came Ruby was more interested in her Frisbee then playing with other dogs. I think next time I’ll leave the Frisbee at home and see if I can get her to be more social.

Today the Hockey season began for both of our kids. I captured todays picture of the day while they waited for their games to start. I love that they will both be wearing number 5 jerseys this season. It also impressed me how excited they both were to be playing again. They both skated hard and were in on plays all game. I just hope the excitement continues all season. I’m interested to see how Jacob does next weekend between the pipes. He volunteered as soon as the coach asked. I’m not sure if he really wants to play goalie, or just wants to get it over with for the season.

Todays picture of the day is of Violet and Jacob riding their scooters to school through the fall leaves.  I love the mornings when we can walk to school as a family.

Today I went to the Fido store with my mom to help her pick out a new phone. She didn’t want a new phone, she loved her old Xperia Pro with its slide out keyboard, but it just wasn’t cutting it any more.  So after looking over her options, she settled on the Nokia Lumia 635. It seemed to be the best phone she could get without signing a contract or paying an arm and a leg. I’m hoping to do a bit of a write-up on it next week. I just need to get some time to play with it first.

Today Microsoft released a technical preview of Windows 10. So I’ve started looking for a place to install it for testing.  I started with a virtual machine,  but couldn’t get it to install.  My next step was to try and setup a dual boot on one of our computers. It failed.  Couldn’t get it to boot off the USB stick so it leaves me with the question to I Ru  a technical preview as the only OS o n a computer our family uses on a daily basis? 

Tonight we have a picture of a beer I picked up tonight. It was a tasty Brew that I quite enjoyed.

Today I thought I’d share Jacob’s baseball trophies and team picture for today’s picture of the day. He is so proud of them all. And I am so proud of him.
