Today we have a picture of Violet working on her Snuggle up and read homework. After reading her story she got to work on drawing her picture. One of her books tonight was about butter, and she loves toasted rye bread with butter. So she got a slice of rye bread as a model and drew her own complete with butter.
Today was family and while Melissa had to work the kids and I headed to Nana and Papa’s house for an afternoon of swimming and lunch.
After dropping Melissa and Violet off at the Science Centre for a play day with a bunch of her friends, I decided to run a little experiment. I headed to a Starbucks with just my Cell Phone and Tablet to see how much code I could write. Though I came up a bit short of my goals, I did find it a successful day.
Today we have a picture of our dinner table after Melissa and I (Well mostly Melissa) finished setting it up for our Valentines dinner. I love sharing these family moments with Melissa and the kids.
Today was Parent Teacher interviews at the kid’s school and while I do find talking tot he teachers enlightening, I have another reason for attending. I like to capture pictures of the kids work off the class room walls. This year that seems to be only Violet’s work in her kindergarten class. Still I managed to put together a collage from her different winter themed works of art. .
Today after the kids skating lessons we headed to Montana’s for a special dinner. We don’t go out just the three of us that often, so it was nice.
This evening after the kiddies were tucked in their beds, I ran some errands and took some time to have a coffee with my mom. It was nice to have a few minutes just chatting with her about our busy lives.
Today we headed to the doctors office to get Jacob tested for allergies. This is Jacobs second time being tested, and thankfully he doesn’t have any allergies. (Jacobs first Test) Of course this makes me think that we really need to get Violet a second test, just to confirm that she has out grown her Peanut allergy.
Back in October I shared a picture of my desk, with an explosion of screens(POD: My Work Desktop). It represented an extreme that I wished for, but didn’t have the technology to support. To add insult to it I had the spare monitor I used with my Nieces laptop that day sitting on my desk, but I had no computer to power it. Today that changed. Today I decided that the old laptop with windows 10 wasn’t up to being lugged around to coffee shops. It still works when it has a nice stable home, but we didn’t have a good place for it at our place, so I thought, why not set it up on my desk at work. After a bit of rejiggering my desk I had it hooked up to the spare monitory (and connected with Synergy), to form my 4 screen desktop. I through my Tablet in on the left because I could.
Of course I’m not sure how well this set up will work, it is an older laptop, but I’m excited to give it a try, it will also getting me working with windows 10 on a daily basis, so that I’ll know when and if the technical previews are ready to be installed on my main computers.
Today was practice day, both kids were on the ice early in the morning. Thankfully not that early, the first practice started at 8. Of course the best part of the early morning practices is that you are done by ten and are free to do what every you want to do for the rest of the day.
