Today Melissa Recorded her first VLog, I was here for technical support. I setup the high-tech camera mount for her iPhone, and let her know when her time was up. I’m not sure when it will be posted but stay tuned to her blog shrinkingmama.com to watch it when it is. Watching her record made me wonder if I should do some video content for Geek with Kids, but thankfully that quickly past. I wont say I’ll never do a VLog but it wont be anytime soon.
Near our house they are building a skate park, one thing about the process I’ve been surprised by is that they have worked on and off all winter. The other day I was amused by how the equipment they have on the site was parked. It’s like the bigger machine is protecting the little one. I know it’s silly but I thought hey why not make it my picture of the day.
Today the family headed to Ikea for lunch and look for something’s for our house. So while Jacob played in their play land, Violet, Melissa and I wondered the showroom floor. We were looking for a new bookcase for our living room, of course there are always so many things that caught our eye. From a new dinning room table, to new chair for the our new computer desk. You can see me and Violet testing out a pair of chairs in today’s picture. We held off any big purchases today, but a few thing made it to our wish list.
Todays picture is of our anti-social kitty. Who’s gone from taking swipes at me when I walked past to spending the evenings curled up on my lap.
Today Violet turned 2. So we had a nice dinner and opened some presents. Our picture is of Violet looking over her new Trike.
This morning Jacob came into our bedroom all excited, usually that would mean he got into something he shouldn’t have. Today it was a little different. This morning he’d setup our Whoville-opoly and wanted to play. To be fair, we played last night after Violet went to bed, and I had left the box out overnight. But to come down and see the game out and ready to play was quite impressive. Unfortunately we didn’t have a chance to play as Violet was waking up and all the little pieces would be to tempting for her to snack on. So we packed it up, hopefully we’ll find time to play one night when Melissa is around.
Today our picture of the day is of a sick Jacob relaxing on the couch. He’s trying to ignore me as I take the picture. It’s hard when your kids are sick, though after all the sleep they both got today I’m hoping they will have a better tomorrow.
Even with all the preparations for Violet’s 2 birthday party we found time to re-organize one of our storage closets. With the redecorating in our living room we have some new options for our storage rooms. It started with the removal of our old baby stuff, given to friends who are expecting their first child in June. With a little hard work and some help from my mother we managed re-organize it for storing some of the extra kids stuff that we want to keep but don’t have room for elsewhere. Now all we have to do is tackle the other storage room. Perhaps that’ll be a Job for next weekend.
I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who came and shared this special day with our family. Our little girl turns 2 on Thursday and today we celebrated. It was a great party and it’s days like today that form the memories I want my kids to have as they grow up.
Tomorrow we celebrate Violet’s second birthday, today we went out to pick up the last few things we needed. Our quest for Veggie and Fruit trays failed, Costco had none, and Sobey’s seemed over priced. So we picked up fresh veggies and fruit and Melissa made her own. So for my Picture today I thought I’d show off her work.
