Today Melissa and Jacob took to the kitchen and made some cookies. The two of them seemed to have a lot of fun baking. Of course the abundance of cookies we now have probably aren’t great for the diet.

POD: Even bad behaviour can have some positives
It’s amazing how one little thing can show both how clever Jacob is and that he’s still a little boy. You see today Jacob decided to tell a story with words and a picture. Unfortunately he did it on the walls with pen. I’m not sure why he leaves off arms when he’s drawing people, but as you can see his spelling is very good. You can even see where he made a correction in what he wrote. Just in case you can’t see it in the picture he wrote “Jacob and Noah with apples”.
POD: Keeping Watch
Today before bed Jacob and I set Coco up in his window to watch the coming snow. I know Jacob is excited to have more snow to play in, but to me all the fuss seems silly. I mean yes there could be a lot of snow coming. It’s winter, that’s normal. It just seems a bit of an over reaction to be planning to be shutdown tomorrow before we see any of the coming snow. Of course I might just be under reacting. Perhaps the city will be crippled under a blanket of snow, but I just can’t worry about it till the snow hits the ground.
POD: Looking in the Mirror

As Part of project 365 last year I ended each mon with a self-portrait. It was great to be able to look back and see the changes over the course of the years. With the change from Project 365 to Picture of the Day I am not sure if I want to continue the practice. So I thought I’d as my readers. Should I continue with the self-portrait? Let me know in the comments.
POD: Building a suprise
This evening before Jacob headed to bed, he asked me to close my eyes he had a surprise for me. As I sat with my eyes closed I wondered what my surprise would be, it seemed to take a long time. I could hear him run upstairs and come back down, each time asking if my eyes were still closed. To be fair my eyes weren’t closed, I was on the computer while he assembled his surprise behind me on the carpet. When I finally looked back he’d built what you see in the picture. And once again I’m reminded how much I love blocks, and how even though it’s been months since I’ve seen him play with them, they are great to have around.

POD: Dinner with the Family
Tonight the family headed up to Montana’s for dinner. The kids seemed to enjoy the paper Antlers.

POD: Kitchen Time
Today Violet had her 2 year appointment that included a surprise shot. When we got home from the appointment we spent some time in her room playing with her kitchen. It’s quite amazing to see how engaged she gets with all the different activities in her kitchen.
