POD: Election Day

IMG_20110502_172734

Today Canada picks new leaders, and so off I went to vote. So My picture today is of my ballet and the tough question I faced. Who to vote for? I posted this as the Polls close so I don’t know the results yet. It seems like the most interesting election in a long time, so I think I’ll skip the first hour of analysis and go for a run. Perhaps I’ll post again when I get back, and we know what our parliament will look like.

POD: 10k Race Day (57:18.3)

DSC_0173

Today on the eve of the anniversary of my first run I took part in my second  race. The distance was double my last race, the Harry Rosen 5k Spring Run-Off. Today’s race was the Sporting Life 10k. My Time was 57:18.3, only .4 seconds behind Dan’s time of 57:17.9. The running felt great, our pace was 5 Minutes and 44 Seconds a km. Making it the fast I’ve ever run for a sustained amount of time. Now I’ve got 2 weeks to prepare to more than double todays race distance. On May 15th I run the Mississauga Half-Marathon. You can pledge your support here. I’ll be writing more about it in the coming days.

POD: Race Kit

I spent last night trying to figure out how I would get up to the sporting life at Young and Eglington(Actually quite a bit north of Eglington). Today the stars aligned and I found myself heading up to the area for work. So I skipped lunch and picked up my race kit for Sunday’s Sporting Life 10k. No shirt this time, it seems the delivery has been delayed, we’ll pick them up after the race on Sunday. It’s quite exiting to be preparing for my second race. Of course the big one is in 2 weeks when I run the Half Marathon.

POD: Choosing a Reward

Today after school I took Jacob to Mastermind Toys to pick out his reward for going to bed on time without a fight for 14 nights in a row. He was allowed to choose one playmobil that was under $20. It was not an easy decision for him. But after much debate and explaining which were in his budget, he finally choice the Holiday Compact Play Set.
