POD: Melissa’s Collection

Today I didn’t manage to capture an image that I wanted to use as my POD. This was a problem that I needed to solve. While looking around the living room I saw Melissa’s Willow Tree collection and that they might be a good subject for the photo. I picked out a few of the family figures and took a few pictures. I like the way they show the different stages of family.

POD: A new toy for Daddy

Today I bit the bullet and singed away my freedom for the next 3 years. That’s right I got a new Cell phone. I got a HTC Amaze from Telus. I usually would use a picture of the phone, or of my unboxing. But this picture makes me wonder who was more excited by my new phone, me or Jacob. I will be doing a right up on the phone in the coming weeks, but the one thing you can be sure of, is that my POD will get an upgrade with its 8 Mega pixel camera.

POD: Running in the New Year

With a new year comes new resolutions and goals.  I’m working on a whole post that looks back on last years goals and sets out a bunch for this year, unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to write it, but today’s POD will give you a hint of some of my goals, the first is that I’m going to continue posting a picture a day, the second is that it’s time to get back into running. I want to be running 3 to 5 times a week, so to inspire me I thought I’d start the year out right by going for a run. Before heading out I captured a picture of me in my running gear.

A quick note about my picture of the day, with yesterday’s post I had complete 2 years of taking a picture and sharing it every day for 2 years. That’s 730 Pictures, and that doesn’t include the bonus pictures or pictures from family events that I’ve posted on my blog. That’s a lot of pictures, and this year I’m going to organize the Picture of the day photos a little differently. If you want to see my pictures in one place you can see them on this Google Plus Album ( Picture of the Day 2012 ).

POD: Saying Hello to 2012

Today we celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the new year. It’s a time for looking back at the goals you set for the year that was and to set new goals for the year to come. But that will wait. For now it’s time to Celebrate. And though Melissa was working, the kids and I had a little party. Hopefully one year Melissa will be able to make it and we can enter in the new year as a family. neither of the kids had any of the champagne(Ginger Ale) today, but they loved the Chips, Cheetos and Candy.

Happy New Year

POD: Fun in the Snow

Today the kids finally got to play in the snow. There wasn’t enough for building a Frosty or a Snowball fight, but they did make Snow Angels and tried to make snow balls.I find it funny that watching them I was cold. It didn’t seem to bother them though.  After playing in the snow we headed to my Mom’s place for a small gathering with family. I took some pictures there and I was really tempted to us one of them for my picture of the day. In the end I went with the fun in the snow because of how much the kids have wanted it to snow so that they could play in it. I will be sharing pictures from our family gathering once I get through the back log of events from the holidays.

POD: Suprise Visit

As we were getting ready to head out for Christmas eve with family we heard a knock at our door. And who should be there but the big man himself. I tried to capture the moment. Jacob was amused by me taking another picture and Violet wouldn’t stand still. Of course to be fair that’s the closest she’s been to Santa this entire season, so that’s something. I’ve decided to use this as our Christmas Eve picture of the day for two reasons. The first is it’s a great picture and how often does the big man come to your door when you are awake. Second was it’ll be nice to not have to worry about it later and just enjoy Christmas Eve with the family. You can expect a separate post about the rest of the evening. Marry Christmas every one, I hope you can spend time with loved ones this Holiday Season.
