POD: Melissa’s Race Day

From Picture of the Day 2013

Today Melissa had her first run. It’s the same run I did for my first run, the Harry Rosen Spring Run-Off. She did amazing. I’m so proud of the journey she’s been on over the last few years. She is such an inspiration for me. I have to admit it was strange standing at the finish line and not crossing it. It makes me think I really have to get back out there and run.

POD: Picnik with Nan

From Picture of the Day 2013

Today is Violet’s long day, with Pre-School, then Kindergarten enrichment followed by skating.  It’s a long day, so I’m glad that she got to have a fun picnic lunch with her Nan.  When I heard they were going to be having a picnic I asked my mom to take some pictures. I chose today’s Picture of the Day from the pictures she took.

POD: Afternoon Lego

From Picture of the Day 2013

Today the ladies headed out with Nana to find some shoes for Violet, leaving Jacob and me home looking for ways to entertain ourselves. So out came the Lego and we went to work finishing up his Bat Cave set. It’s really fun sitting there with Jacob building Lego, though I think we should get some brick sets that allow building using our imagination, the sets are cool, but it would be fun to sit down and just build what ever came to our mind.  Perhaps for his birthday I’ll look for a 1000 piece Lego set.

POD: Easter Morning 2013

From Picture of the Day 2013

Looking back on the last few Easters I seem to use a picture of the kids dressed up for church for my picture of the day, well at least I did last year. So I guess I’ll make it a tradition. Each year I’ll get a picture of the kids as we get ready to head out to church. Of course I took a much more pictures, of the Egg hunt, their baskets and even our afternoon at Nana’s house. But for today I’ll post just this picture and if I get a chance in the coming day I’ll share some more pictures from Easter.

POD: Colouring Eggs

From Picture of the Day 2013

This afternoon our family sat around the table and coloured a dozen eggs. Everyone helped with picking eggs and choosing colours. The hardest part was waiting long enough for the colour to really stick to the eggs. Of course the kids really enjoyed it, now I wonder if they’ll enjoy eating coloured hard boiled eggs over the next week.

POD: Skating Collage

From Picture of the Day 2013

Last week I thought skating was over, yet today I found myself in the arena watching the kids skates. It seems that we’ve got another 3 or 4 weeks of skating for the kids. I have to say after watching them today that I’m glad. They are both so much better on the ice then when they started that any more time they can get out there is worth it.
