Tonight I thought I’d share a picture of the two kite’s Violet made in her pre-school. When she brought them home, I thought back to the day Jacob brought home his kite from pre-school (Project 365-115: Lets go fly a kite) and thanks to my project 365 I can share Jacob’s kite with you today.
Today when I was dropping Violet off at her afternoon class, I was taken by how pretty the lake looked. I tried to Convince Violet to walk closer to the lake so I could get a picture of her in front of it. Unfortunately she was having none of it. So this was our compromise.
Last night I tried my first batch of cold brewed coffee. It turned out pretty good, though having a cold cup of coffee in the morning seemed strange. My only complaint with it was it didn’t seem as strong as I expected. So I setup a second batch with a higher ratio of coffee to water and decided to leave it longer. I’ll see in the morning how it turns out.
Today after school my Mom took the kids down to the lake for a little adventure. The Kids love going on adventures with their Nan. I love when she takes pictures of the kids fun and I can use them for my Picture of the Day. I’m sure as the weather finally warms up they will be going on a lot more of these adventures. Perhaps I’ll find a time to tag along.
Monday is Violet’s skating class and today I arrived at the rink as her class was ending. Letting me captured this picture of her with Papa after her lesson.
Today Melissa tackled her first 10k run. Her and Danny ran the Young street course in 1:06:56.2. I’m so proud of her. She has worked so hard and accomplished so much. It’s truly inspirational.
Tomorrow is Melissa’s second run, this time it’s a 10k down young street. You might remember this was my second race 2 years ago when I started running races. I’m so excited to for her, and still a little jealous that she’s running and I’m not. So Tonight I have decided to change that. I will be running this summer. To cap it off I think it’s time to Commit the Family to run the Toronto Zoo Run in September. Of course my Big Run will be the Toronto Waterfront Marathon, the only question I have to answer is will I be doing the Half or Full Marathon.
Friday’s is swim day and today while during Violet’s lesson I captured today’s picture of the day. It’s the third week of the spring session and the kids are loving being in the pool again. Swimming is an activity the entire family enjoys and it’s a great skill for the kids to have, one I wish I had better mastered in my youth.
With the temperature starting to actually feel like spring, this evening while Melissa and Jacob were out, I decided it was time to pull out Violet’s new scooter. She was so excited helping me put it together. It was great fun watching ride it for the first time.
Tonight for dinner my Mom and took me and the kids to Swiss Chalet for dinner. Instead of having the usual quarter or half chicken my mom got the Teriyaki Chicken stir fry and I got the Butter Chicken. My picture of the day today is her dinner. I had taken one of mine but it seems that my phone didn’t like it and when I went to pull it all I had was a corrupted file.
