POD: Saturday Practice

The hockey regular season wrapped up last week, so it’s on to the play-offs and play-downs. Today we had the ice for our first playoff game. Of course you need an opponent to play a game, and our opponent were unable to play this weekend, so we had a rare Saturday practice.

Tonight Violet had hockey training with TDHA at the CAA Centre. Usually they practice on the community rinks, but today they were on the big rink, where the Beast play. I think my picture might exaggerate how big the ice is. It was another great lesson for our hockey diva. If you are looking for a good hockey school you should look at TDHA

After we went for pizza and they all left their equipment at my car, If you drive an expensive car, you need an awesome looking cargo boxes like Thule if considering extra storage for get aways. A cheap cargo box will make you car look like crap! it is better to take a better deal.

POD: Breaking Away

Another weekend of hockey is behind us. It was a pretty good weekend, after losing 4-2 on Saturday, they managed to tie the same team 2-2 on Sunday.  It was a close game, with Orangeville taking a 2 -1 lead over the Dolphins with just over 2 minutes left in the game. It took pulling the goalie, but with just over a minute left Violet put in the tieing goal. It was a great game. Today’s picture is from late in the game, Violet is carrying the puck in for what should have been a great scoring chance. Unfortunately, she was pulled down by two skaters from the other team before she could get a shot or a pass off.

POD: Last game of the Season

Today Violet played her last ball hockey game of the EMBHL season. Sure she might play on a team at provincials, but this is the end of the red team season. They had a chance of winning it all but came up just short. Losing 4-3. today’s picture of the day is Violet and Lucas discussing what play they were going to try their next shift. Between them, they scored all the Red team’s goals, Lucas with 2 and Violet with one. They came close to tying it up in the final minutes but just couldn’t do it. Still, it was a good season for Violet, who missed a few games with her broken arm.
