One year ago I decided to start blogging everyday for the rest of the year. I did that and haven’t stopped. It’s now been a full year of a posting everyday. To be fair starting the Project 365 on January 1st has really help with my posting everyday, but I’m still impressed that I went from occasionally posting a musing or collection of photos to posting something every day.
Moving forward I hope to start posting a lot more none Project 365 posts. Starting Monday with the launch of my new series, Mobile Mondays. There will be more series in the coming weeks, I’m just working out the details before I launching them. I’m hoping to have posts from 2 or 3 ongoing series each week. I just want to make sure this time I don’t get 1 or 2 posts in and then stop.
An interesting note about the first post a year ago (see post here). I talked about Jacob and Violet starting their fall swim classes. In an example of the symmetry of life, tomorrow is the first day of this falls swimming classes. This time we’ll be going on Saturdays, with Violet and I in the Guardian and Tot swim while Jacob is in his Pre-School 2 class.

Another month comes to a close and with it I snap another picture of myself. Today I am riding a subway, I really got to find a way to be more creative with these shots.

Today Melissa took Jacob to the Just for Kids clinical. It seems he’s had a reaction to the Amoxicillan he’s been taking for his latest ear infection. So this evening Jacob and I headed out to pick up the replacement anti-biotics.

Today was a family day out and about. I snapped this picture while Melissa helped Jacob read some Bob Books. I would love to write more about our day, but I have some work that needs doing and a run that needs running. More tomorrow.
I seem to like challenging myself, I have my blog everyday challenge and my 365 challenge (to be fair they have shortage merged). More importantly they have worked. So now I am going to add a new challenge. A sleep challenge. I have spent the summer trying to become a healthier person, with varying degrees of success. I have become a much more active person, though my weight-loss has been slowing down. As part of my self-examination before I took the leap to join weight watchers I realised that all that was good, but I need to do something about my sleeping.
I don’t sleep enough. The way my days go now, I wake up with the kids in the morning, usually between 7 and 8 and don’t get to bed until around 2am, sometimes later. Most nights I’m lucky to get 5 hours sleep. Of course then you have times like the last week where I was struggling with a deadline and got less than 3 hours on a few nights. The biggest problem is that most nights between 6 and 8 I’m a walking around like a zombie, occasionally going as far as falling asleep in my chair. This isn’t a good time to be half asleep. On some days it’s the only chance I have to be around the kids so I want to be more alert.

Today I seemed to take a lot of pictures, which makes choosing which to use for my photo. After going through them all I settled on this of the two walking down a ramp on the way over to my mom’s place to see her and her sister. It seems cute and a little mischievous to me, like these two might be getting into trouble one of these days. With all my pictures I didn’t get a good one of the My Mom, Aunt and the kids. Perhaps tomorrow I can try again.

Today before heading to the store the kids and I walked past the park from the other day (Project 365-242: Is this Goodbye?). As you can see nothing is left. As we walked over the little hill to the park Jacob was shocked to see nothing there. It’s a shame to see it go, I just hope that it finds a new home where kids will enjoy it.

Another month slips by and so here is another picture of me. September is going to be a big month with Jacob starting school. So stay tuned.

Today the family headed over to Melissa’s dads to see her Grandparents who are in town visiting. It’s the first time they have met our kids. A nice visit was had by all, though Violet seemed more interested in Grandpa’s new cat then anything else.

I returned home today and was presented with the building pictured. It seems that Violet and Jacob had spent some time today building together at the little table. It seemed like a good thing for my picture of the day.
