Today we have a picture of the New Canadian 100 bill. I think it’s crazy that we’re moving towards plastic money, that’s see through. When I was holding it today I thought it felt like play money. In fact it reminded me of the money from our Monopoly Millennium Edition. Of course it will be a few more years before all our bills are updated to the new style.

With the Santa Claus parade winding through our streets yesterday, in my head it’s now the Christmas season. So as I was walking to and from work today I thought it might be a good time to take a picture of the local fountain with its fancy Christmas light display. I’m not sure that on a normal night if I would have used it as my picture of the day, but after spending the evening in the ER it’ll have to do. When I headed out with the kids after getting home from work I had hopped to have a quick visit to the kids clinic at St. Joes. unfortunately the TTC had other plans. After just missing a streetcar we arrived 10 minutes after they stopped taking patients at the clinic so I was left with a choice of waiting till tomorrow to take Violet to see her doctor, or brave the ER. I figured since I was there I would brave the ER. That was probably a mistake. The place was full and we waited hours to be seen and finally told that Violet has Pink Eye. The doctor proscribed a week of eye drops. So it’s probably good that I didn’t wait till tomorrow, but as I sit down to write this I’m really just wanting to head to bed.

For about month we planned a family get away to the USA for some shopping and a little relaxing. Two weeks ago we went, of course because things can never go as planned we were forced to change our plans at the last-minute and Violet ended up stay back in Toronto to have a special adventure with Nan. That left Melissa, Jacob and I on a road trip with Nana and Papa. Having one less child let me sit in the back row of the van where Violet usually sits. It was a great way to keep Jacob entertained during the live drive. It was how I was able to capture this photo:

Today while heading home from Jacob’s hockey we met up with Melissa and Violet heading home from Violet’s ballet. While walking we saw a huge pile of leaves that was too much for the kids. It started with Jacob running through it. Violet followed him in and started to have some fun. It amazed me that of the dozen or so photo’s I took its the first one that captured the moment best. Though today’s bonus picture is pretty good too.

Today’s picture is Violet showing off her new Doll and Stroller that a friend picked up for her today. When I got home from work today she was very excited to show them to me. It was so very cute.
I spent today working at a clients instead of the office and on the way out of the clients I saw a candy machine. I see it every time I’m at the clients, but usually I just walk right by. Today it called to me. As I wrapped up for the day I couldn’t just walk past it and head home. Today I stopped and slipped in a quarter and the picture is what I got. 10 Jelly bean like candy’s of goodness. So for today those 10 candy’s will be my picture of the day.
After work today I Violet and I headed up to over to a friend’s house to help set up their internet. It required a ride in an elevator and while we riding in the elevator Violet started sing, ‘Up Up Up, in the Elevator all the way to Kara’s house.’. It was so cute I snapped a picture of her, thinking that it would make a great story to include with today’s picture of the day. I found it especially cute when on the way back she sang ‘Up Up Up in the elevator all the way to home.’
After swimming lessons the family headed out to the mall to see about getting some winter accessories for the kids. We picked up a new hat and gloves for Jacob. Today’s picture is Jacob showing them off.

Today we have a picture of Jacob’s poppy. He’d been very interested in mine over the last couple of days so yesterday while out with Melissa when he found one he asked to have it clipped to his jacket. I’m not sure what different things his class is doing for Remembrance Day, but here we are doing a few things. So it’s nice to see that he’s taking an interest in such an important day.
After running around shopping today has been a day of household chores and play time in the park. It also found a tired Violet curled up on the floor napping after lunch. It seems a morning of playing in the playground tuckered our little girl out.
