Tonight Violet and her entire hockey team headed down the Scotiabank Arena to watch the Leafs vs the Senators. It was her first Leaf game. They had won tickets to the Ford Fan deck and everyone had a great time. After all how often do you get to go to a hockey game with 16 of your friends?
Today we have a picture of Nan, aka my mom. I enjoyed a cup of coffee with her at a local bakery this morning and captured this picture as I headed off.
After a nice Christmas break it was time to head back to the rink. Today was the first of three games this weekend. Tonight was an exhibition game against Leaside before they get back to the regular season. It will be a busy month of hockey, with 9 games in 4 weekends
Today is December first, the beginning of the last month of the year. Also the day the Advent calendars come out to help the kids count down till Christmas. This year to go with the chocolate calendars they each have a special one.
For the past few years, I have celebrated my birthday by running a 5K with my daughter. This year the tradition continues. Though our Saturday is filled with a ton of activities, we are scheduled to run the Novo NordiskĀ® Hazel 5KM (Part of the Mississauga Marathon race weekend). Every year I watch as violet gets faster and I get slower. In years past I had hoped to use this race as a springboard to get back into serious running, unfortunately, it hasn’t worked. This year I hope to change that. I’ve started by doing a few warm-up runs., something I never did enough in past years (if I’m being honest I still haven’t done enough). Going forward, this year will be different. I will start regular runs with the goal of running a 10K by the end of summer, or at least another couple of 5ks with one or both of my kids.
Tonight we have a silly picture. It seems Melissa was going through our sports equipment closet and found an hold hockey back. With Violet’s current bag having a broken zipper this could come in handy for any summer hockey camps. I think Violet likes it too.
