As I reach 4 years of blogging every day, 3 months shy of 3 full years of a picture a day. I turn to the children lunches for today picture of the day, with the pledge that I will try to ad more creativity in the month to come.
Today we have another lunch picture. It seems with the start of the new school year the kids lunches are becoming my go to picture on the days that I’m missing a picture as the day winds down. I find it strange how much I’m enjoying putting the kids lunches together. Last year it was a chore to do each morning, but this year it’s different somehow. I’m not sure if it’s all the extra planning Melissa and I are doing or the challenge of finding healthy and interesting lunches the kids will enjoy. All I know is that each morning as I take a picture of the kids lunches to send to Melissa, I feel a sense of pride. It’s not the easiest time but we’re a family and we’re working as a team even when Melissa can’t be here.
Today we have a picture of the kids. It was fun putting it together today because I got to make Macaroni and Cheese for Violet. It’s a challenge to put together a tasty and healthy lunch for the kids every day, but with help from Melissa I’m managing.
Today on the way home from the baseball game I walked pas a Taco Bell with a line in front of it. At 10pm this didn’t seem normal so I checked it out and found them giving out free samples of the new Doritos Locos Tacos. I must say they are quite taste.
Today Melissa made a special treat. She made fudge, so after dinner I sat down with a fresh cup of coffee and enjoyed a few squares.
Today I woke up to a special treat. Melissa decided to make french toast for me and the kids. It’d been a while since I’d enjoyed french toast and I have to say Melissa really knows how to make a good french toast.
Yesterday I used a picture of the KFC Double Down as my picture of the day. Today I thought I’d use something I made for myself. This is the burger I made for myself this afternoon. What you’re seeing is a 5oz paddy from European Meats with cheddar cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions, with lettuce and pickles.
Today I did something I have wanted to do for years. Today I had a Double Down from KFC. Of course this years sandwich is spicy and I’m not the biggest fan of spicy chicken from KFC, but it was still an impressive sandwich. Though I did find the Chicken “bun” to be a little hot to hold when I first unwrapped it.
Tonight I headed out to the Bier Market for a birthday dinner and beer sampling with Danny. I’ve been looking forward to heading to the Bier Market ever since it opened, and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. The Food was delicious and the beer selection was mind boggling. We tried 8 different beers, and though I could probably list them all I think I’ll just list a couple of the more memorable ones. The first I will give a shout out to was Young’s Double Chocolate Stout, it was full of flavour without being to sweet. The second was Grimbergen Dubbel Abbey Ale and La Trappe Quadrupel Trappist Ale round out my top three of the night. I think I’ll have to plan another visit to the Bier Market soon.
Tonight for dinner my Mom and took me and the kids to Swiss Chalet for dinner. Instead of having the usual quarter or half chicken my mom got the Teriyaki Chicken stir fry and I got the Butter Chicken. My picture of the day today is her dinner. I had taken one of mine but it seems that my phone didn’t like it and when I went to pull it all I had was a corrupted file.
