Today I had the opportunity to take the kids into the Lego store, one of their favourite places to go. With Christmas fast approaching I took the opportunity to see the different sets of Lego they were interesting. Who knows, may some of it will be under the tree for them on Christmas morning. Jacob seems really interested in the Minecraft Lego, though as he pointed out to his Nan, having pre-designed sets isn’t what Minecraft is about. Of course I remember when pre-designed set wasn’t what Lego was about either.

On a day that saw our family spending the evening in a couple of hockey rinks, I thought I’d go another way with my picture of the day. Here is a picture I took of the Toronto skyline while walking Ruby tonight.

Today the puck dropped on Violet’s final season of Tyke hockey. Next year she’ll be playing Novice hockey and we face the dilemma of where should she play. She can continue i Boys hockey or move to all Girls hockey. it’s a tough decision, but one we don’t have to make till next year.

As the we continue to gear up for the fall season of activities we’re seeing more and more overlap. Today we had Hockey then Dance, usually we’ll be going the other way round. I couldn’t help but snap this picture as we headed out of the arena.

Today the kids headed back to school. Violet enters the first grade and Jacob moves on to the fourth. Time seems to be flying by for my little ones. The best news of the day was that Violet is in a 1/2 split, instead of the SK/1 we feared all summer.

Today we headed down to the CNE for a day of family fun. It was hot and crowded but the kids seemed to enjoy the day. I didn’t manage t try the Spagetti and Meatball burger, but did have the Thanksgiving waffle.

Today I took Jacob and one of his school friends for a day of fun at Canada’s Wonderland. Most of the day was spent at the water park, but with Jacob measuring above 54 inches we had to make a stop at the DropZone a ride he’s wanted to go on all summer, but had never been quite tall enough.

Today we headed out to get the kids new shoes for the coming school year. After some effort we managed to get a pair for each of them. Tonight though I share a little collage I put together of Jacob Tieing the laces of his new shows. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll share a picture of Violet’s new shoes.

Today we headed up to pick up Violet and Ben from Summer camp. While both were happy to see their parents, I think they both would have been happy to spend more time at camp. Of course they will hopefully be heading back next summer, but that is a long time.

Today we sent Violet off to her first overnight camp. She was so excited to go. I tried to get a nice picture with just me and her…. That didn’t work out.
