Today we headed to the CWHL Game to watch the Toronto Furies take on the Brampton Thunder. Violet’s favourite player, Natalie Spooner plays (Number 24) for the Furies and scored a hattrick. It wasn’t enough for the furries to defeat the Thunder, which was ok for Violet and her teammates because three of the Brampton players coach the girl’s hockey teams, and they came to play. It was a great game, ending 4-3 with Brampton scoring the winner in the final minute of the game.

POD: First House League game of 2017
After a two week break from house league hockey Violets team hit the ice for their first game of 2017. It was a hard fought game with the Silver Stars falling 4-2. What impressed me was how hard Violet played. Going in to the corners for the puck and not giving up when she went for the net. She was rewarded for her effort with a beautiful goal on a rebound.

POD: Skating with the kids

Even though I didn’t really feel like doing anything, I knew that the kids didn’t want to have another day in the house, so I did something I don’t usually do, I laced up my skates and took the kids for a family skate. Jacob isn’t in the picture because he took the picture. It was a fun afternoon, perhaps we can do it again this winter.

POD: Tournament Time

Today Violet’s DS Team laced up their first skates for the first Tournament of the hockey season. They were so excited to get out on the ice and see how they compared to the other teams. The day was started with a nail biter. It ended in a 1-1 tie, with the Dolphins tieing it up with 0.10 seconds left in the game. The second game was a 6-3 win for our Dolphins.

POD: Christmas Eve Tradition
After an afternoon celebrating with my family, it was time to get down with our little family’s Christmas tradition, the First gifts of Christmas. Every year the kids know that they get to open one present on Christmas eve. They know that they’ll be PJs, but they look forward to it every year.
