Today Jacob hit the Ice for the start of another season of Tyke Hockey. Today was try out so the coaches can pick the teams for the coming season. It was great to see how much Jacob’s skating has improved from last years try outs.
Today he headed to Sears Portrait Studio to use a Groupon deal we got. Last time we went to Sears for our photo’s it didn’t work out to well, the kids were restless and the photographer was impatient.. We were not impressed, but the Groupon deal was too good to pass up so we braved Sears Portrait studio once again, and were rewarded with wonderful pictures. Today’s picture of the day is of some of the shots I took during the session.
Today we had a quick shopping run before dropping the kids off at Nana and Papa’s for a surprise sleepover. After our first stop, instead of the whole family heading in, the kids and I waited in the van. Where I captured today’s picture of the day.
Today Jacob came home with a little surprise in his bag. It seems he won a Good Thinking Award in class today, for making the mystery word ‘animals’. Tomorrow my little man has his first spelling test, I’m looking forward to see how he does. If his practising today is any indication, hell ace it.
Today we have another picture of miracle baby Nathaniel, who continues to improve. He’s had a rough start and a long road a head, but I’m sure he’ll continue to improve and thrive. I’m hoping to have a chance and see Nathaniel in person tomorrow after work with the kids.
Today my thoughts are with a very close friend, who had their first child today over 2 months premature. Both Mother and Baby are recovering, he was just 3 pound 1 ounce and 37.5cm long. I have yet to see the little guy, but looking at the picture that Melissa sent I can’t help but remember when Jacob was a baby in the NICU. Of course he was only 4 premature not over 2 months.
Today we have a picture of Jacob, beaming with pride as he sits on the monkey bars in his school’s playground. In the past he’d asked me to lift him up there, today I said no. if he wanted to go on top of the monkey bars he had to get up there himself. Well he should me.
Today we took Violet to her pre-school to meet with the teachers about the upcoming year. It went great until it was time to go, Violet just didn’t want to leave. It wont be long till she’s there 3 days a week.
Today while walking to school, Jacob’s friend Liam through his arm over his shoulder. It was a cute moment that I’m glad I captured it.
Today we have a picture of Violet and Jacob as we rode the bus home from meeting Melissa. I can’t help but feel the kids got short-changed on an outing. Melissa met me near my work with the kids and we headed home while she head out for the evening.
