POD: Violet’s Wheeles

From Pictures of the Day 2012

This morning before heading out with Mommy for the day, Violet found time to begin to decorate her ‘Car’. Watching her was so cute that I had to take a picture. When I asked her what she was drawing she said wheels. I asked her why the car had some many wheels and she said so it wouldn’t fall over. That’s the logic of a three-year old for you.

POD: Jacob Climbs

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Before dinner the kids headed out to get some play time in. While playing Jacob was inspired to try to climb up to the top of a trellis. I wasn’t sure it was a good idea, so I walked over to him, and snapped a few pictures.  By the time I got there, he’d reached as high as he was going to get, and was in fact stuck. He wanted me to help him get to the top, of course I helped him get down instead.

POD: Violet’s first Skating class

It took her a little while to get used to be to out on the ice, but after a while she was getting it.  Jacob’s class went well, he’s hockey skills are really improving. I can’t wait to see how he does during his first game this weekend.

It’s the first time the kids have been to the Castle Playground since it was rebuilt after the fire in the spring. While there Nan took some pictures, that I’ve put together in a collage for today’s picture of the day.

POD: Home Work

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Grade 1 has brought weekly spelling for Jacob. It seems each Monday the teacher will five Jacob a list of words that he has to use in sentences. Each day he’s supposed to review the words so that on Friday  he’s ready for the weekly spelling test. Today he brought home his second list of words and sentences. So after dinner he sat down with Mom and reviewed the words and did a practice test. He knows the words, but he’s going to work on them each night to help with his printing. Also to help him get used to studying for when the words get harder.
