This morning before heading out with Mommy for the day, Violet found time to begin to decorate her ‘Car’. Watching her was so cute that I had to take a picture. When I asked her what she was drawing she said wheels. I asked her why the car had some many wheels and she said so it wouldn’t fall over. That’s the logic of a three-year old for you.
Before dinner the kids headed out to get some play time in. While playing Jacob was inspired to try to climb up to the top of a trellis. I wasn’t sure it was a good idea, so I walked over to him, and snapped a few pictures. By the time I got there, he’d reached as high as he was going to get, and was in fact stuck. He wanted me to help him get to the top, of course I helped him get down instead.
Today the fall skating started both Jacob and Violet started skating classes at the MasterCard Centre for Hockey Excellence. It took her a little while to get used to be to out on the ice, but after a while she was getting it. Jacob’s class went well, he’s hockey skills are really improving. I can’t wait to see how he does during his first game this weekend.
Today I headed out with Papa to pick up Jacob’s new loft bed. I captured today’s picture of the day while the loaded up the Van with the 5 boxes that make up the bed. Jacob is so excited to be getting his new bed, I can’t say I’m looking forward to building it.

Today the kids headed out with their Nan, to church and then for a picnic in the park and a trip to the rebuilt castle playground. It’s the first time the kids have been to the Castle Playground since it was rebuilt after the fire in the spring. While there Nan took some pictures, that I’ve put together in a collage for today’s picture of the day.

Today I found myself in a book-store with in Jacob looking at books. He was interested at the books, reading the backs of a few of them trying to find something to read. His favourite was ‘The Amazing Spider-Man Story Book collection. Perhaps it will have to find its way under the tree in December.
When I got home today I found my little angel asleep on the couch. It’s been a big week for my little girl. I guess it’s go if she has a little nap in the afternoon.
Today our family headed to Jacob’s school for Meet the teacher night and a welcome to a new school year BBQ. It was nice to meet his teach and see where he’s spending his days. So far this year is going pretty good for Jacob. Violet really seemed to like sitting at Jacob’s desk.
Today the kids spent some of the evening at with their Nana and Papa. When they came home they brought some Pizza and some treats. For Jacob he got 3 new work books, while Violet got some new Pillow cases. I’m not sure how that worked out, but they both seem happy with there presents from Nana and Papa.
Grade 1 has brought weekly spelling for Jacob. It seems each Monday the teacher will five Jacob a list of words that he has to use in sentences. Each day he’s supposed to review the words so that on Friday he’s ready for the weekly spelling test. Today he brought home his second list of words and sentences. So after dinner he sat down with Mom and reviewed the words and did a practice test. He knows the words, but he’s going to work on them each night to help with his printing. Also to help him get used to studying for when the words get harder.
