Today at hockey was Jacob’s turn between the pipes. I would like to say my little guy had himself a shutout, but between his lake of experience as a goalie and his team playing short-handed on both lines, it was far from a shutout. It was a good game though, he tried hard the entire game, paid attention to the play and tried to stay with the puck as it went behind the net. He wasn’t always fast enough, but he tried. It’s the biggest improvement in his game this year, he seems to try for the entire game, even when it’s not going his way.
This afternoon as the snow was coming down Jacob wanted to do just one thing, get out and shovel it. So out he went for close to half an hour shoveling away. I think it wasn’t till he realized that areas he’d already shoveled where becoming covered again that he finally had enough. It was great to watch, and as with all such moments these day’s I was out with my phone capturing pictures.
Today I have a picture of Violet playing with her expanded princess crew. You might remember Last year I posted a picture of Violet’s Princess Crew. After Christmas and her birthday it’s expanded. When I saw her playing with them I thought it would make a good picture. So I slipped in trying to take a picture before she realized that I was there, and could stop me. It turns out that tonight she liked me taking photos, and even took time to pose them for me.
I should write a long prose about how impressed I am with my little girls printing ability, but It’s been a long day and I’m not really up for it. I have to say though, this is the first time that I’ve seen Violet truly write her own name, I guess the kindergarten enrichment class is paying off.
One of the gifts we got Violet for her birthday was a Doctor Dress-up kit, that had a white coat and scrubs. Both kids loved they doctors outfit and spent Sunday dressed up as doctors playing. Violet wore the white coat and Jacob wore the scrubs. Two things amazed me as I watched them play. The first is that Violet has more or less ‘given’ Jacob the scrubs to ware, second is that over the last day I’ve seen Jacob dressed more in the scrubs then in regular clothes. So I wonder if today’s picture of the day is predicting a possible future career for my little man.
Today my Baby Girl turned four. We celebrated with a special birthday Breakfast and presents in the morning and ended the day with a Rapunzel cake.
Tomorrow we celebrate Violet’s fourth birthday. So tonight was a night of prep, cutting the fruits and veggies or the trays. Wee also had to get the canvases ready for one of Melissa’s craft projects she’s planning to do with the kids. They looks so nice all lined up it seemed like a perfect picture for my picture of the day. Perhaps tomorrow I can manage to get a picture of them all when the kids are done.
Today we have a picture of one tired little Violet, who couldn’t even wait for her dinner to arrive before falling asleep. She was enjoying a special dinner with Jacob, Nana and Papa after skating lessons. Thursday’s is a long day for my little girl, with all day pre-school and skating lessons.
Today we have a picture of Jacob as he works on writing a blog post for his new blog. The blog is still a work in progress so we’re not ready to share a link to it, but he’s really proud of it. Each night he sits down and works on a post. To be fair, I only set it up for him Monday, so we’ll see how long his interest lasts. Once we’re done with all the setup and tweaking I’ll be sure to share a link to it here.
Today we have a picture of some of the ‘Loot Bags’ for Violet’s upcoming birthday party. Every year Melissa works so hard on making the kids parties special, from picking a theme to making the decorations. This year we’re going with a colouring theme for the party, so what’s missing from the picture are the green buckets. I can’t wait to see how it all comes together on Violet’s special day.
