I guess Jacob’s train bug wasn’t satisfied with the track he made last night before bed. This afternoon the kids and Nan covered Jacob’s room floor with an intricate track. From the pictures Nan took it’s clear they had fun doing it.
This evening Jacob did something I hadn’t seen him do in a while. He pulled out his trains and started building a track. He had an intricate design in his mind when he started and only bed time stopped him from completing it. He says he’ll continue it tomorrow, but I’m sure there will be other distractions that keeps him from it. As our family contemplates starting our spring cleaning early this year. With spring cleaning comes the purging of old toy’s and one of the things on the bubble is Jacob’s train set, but watching him tonight I wonder if I could really part with it.
Today Melissa and Violet headed out with Nana and Papa, while Jacob and I stayed home to work on things around the place. When they got back Melissa had a surprise for my little guy. A set of figures from Jacobs favourite show, Phineas and Ferb. He was so excited when he saw the package. He couldn’t wait to open it up and play with them.
This week was report card week for my little guy. We were quite happy with his grades and so today we wanted to do something to celebrate with him. So we had a special dinner complete with a little cake.
This evening Violet didn’t want to go to her own bed to sleep. Instead she wanted me to make her a sleeping bag with her Princess blanket on the living room floor. Once she was wrapped up in the blanket she was out in minutes. It was such a cute site that I thought it’d be a better picture of the day then the snow storm gripping the city tonight.
Today we headed over to Nana’s house to see how she was doing. So each of the kids picked out some flowers for her. It was sweet watching the kids pick out which flowers they wanted to get, and then the both insisted on carrying them all the way to Nana’s house.
Thursday is our little family’s busiest day, and today we added to that Valentines and Parent teacher interview at Jacob’s school. Some how we managed to get through it all and still sit down for a Family Valentines dinner complete with special guest Nan. It’s moments like these that I cherish, I love seeing the joy and excitement in the kids faces.
Tomorrow is Valentines day, so tonight we put the finishing touches on the Valentines the kids will take to school tomorrow. I have to say they turned out really well and I hope there classmates enjoy getting them.
Today I met up with my Mom and the kids after work. They were heading off to St. Martins for pancake dinner. I wanted to get a nice picture of the kids sitting on the TTC bench, but they wouldn’t sit any closer than this. So I guess this will be today’s picture of the day.
Today Melissa and Violet got to work on Heart shaped crayons for Violet’s preschool class valentines. I have to say they looking over all the hearts they made, it seems like quite a project. I can’t wait to see them all when they are done.
