Today the ladies headed out with Nana to find some shoes for Violet, leaving Jacob and me home looking for ways to entertain ourselves. So out came the Lego and we went to work finishing up his Bat Cave set. It’s really fun sitting there with Jacob building Lego, though I think we should get some brick sets that allow building using our imagination, the sets are cool, but it would be fun to sit down and just build what ever came to our mind. Perhaps for his birthday I’ll look for a 1000 piece Lego set.
Looking back on the last few Easters I seem to use a picture of the kids dressed up for church for my picture of the day, well at least I did last year. So I guess I’ll make it a tradition. Each year I’ll get a picture of the kids as we get ready to head out to church. Of course I took a much more pictures, of the Egg hunt, their baskets and even our afternoon at Nana’s house. But for today I’ll post just this picture and if I get a chance in the coming day I’ll share some more pictures from Easter.
We spent the afternoon Celebrating Easter with friends, watching the kids play together is always great. I wanted to write more but the Easter bunny is coming tonight and I have to make sure the place is ready Continue reading “POD: Celebrating Easter with Friends”
This afternoon our family sat around the table and coloured a dozen eggs. Everyone helped with picking eggs and choosing colours. The hardest part was waiting long enough for the colour to really stick to the eggs. Of course the kids really enjoyed it, now I wonder if they’ll enjoy eating coloured hard boiled eggs over the next week.
Last week I thought skating was over, yet today I found myself in the arena watching the kids skates. It seems that we’ve got another 3 or 4 weeks of skating for the kids. I have to say after watching them today that I’m glad. They are both so much better on the ice then when they started that any more time they can get out there is worth it.
This evening Violet and I watched a bit of TV before bed. When I pulled out my phone to capture today’s picture of the day, she insisted that I record a video of her singing. I figure the internet doesn’t need more video of her singing songs from Sophia, I’ll save it for when people come to visit, like in the day’s before YouTube.
Tonight I went up stairs to check on the kids, to make sure they were still snug in their beds. What I found in Violet’s room was her sitting on the bed having a Tea Party with her Princesses. Of course she wanted me to Join her. So I did with my camera so I could capture the moment. It wasn’t a long Tea Party but it’s another moment I’ll cherish as my little girl grows up.
I captured today’s picture as Violet was putting away the Phineas and Ferb Sorry game. She worked very hard to make sure the cards were in neat piles. So hard I wasn’t sure if she’d ever finish putting it away. Though when I told her she couldn’t watch Sophia the first till she finished putting it away she sped right up.
Today while at Violet’s Ballet class, I had a thought for a picture of the day. So out came the camera and I captured a picture of her Dance shoes. The top is her Ballet shoes, the ones on bottom are for tap. Every Saturday morning at dance class she gets to put on these shoes and dances. It’s a time she loves, and I always feel privileged when I get to share it with her.
After a long week of work it was nice to come home and have a nice relaxing night with the kids. I captured today’s picture of them as they relaxed on the couch after dinner. I’m a little worried that Jacob might be coming down with something, he seemed a little off tonight. I hope we don’t have to add a doctor’s visit to our weekends plans.
