Today was rehearsal day at Violet’s ballet studio, the last practice before they head to the big stage for one rehearsal next Friday and two shows Saturday. Today was a long day at the ballet studio, Violet’s has a number in both halves of the show, so we had to there all day, but at the same time we had so much to do for Jacob’s 7th birthday party tomorrow. First Jacob spent the day with his Nana and Papa, while Melissa and I went to ballet. After half a day at of waiting, Melissa headed home to work on the party while I hung out waiting for Violet to be finished at dance. It worked out great in the end. The party prep went great and Violet rocked her rehearsals.
This evening our little family went in different directions. Jacob went to dinner and a movie with his uncle, Violet hang out with Nana and Papa, while Melissa and I headed to the Rogers Centre for a Blue Jay’s Game. I have seen pictures from each of those events so picking a picture of the day was a challenge. This picture of Violet showing off her new bike helmet that her Nana and Papa got her, just made me smile.
Tonight we have a sneak peek at Jacob’s birthday banner. It’s amazing all the little things that go into planning the kids parties, and I’m in awe of Melissa’s ability to get it all done.
We had a little visitor today and boy was Violet excited. When I picked the kids up at my mom’s and Violet found out that Nate was at our place her face just lit up. So I had to capture a picture of the two of them for today’s picture of the day.
Today Jacob’s school had a fun fair and both kids wanted to get there face painted. I was there to capture Violet as her face was painted, but couldn’t capture Jacob’s till it was finished.
Today Violet and I took our lunch in the big park. I was there for the sun, Violet was there for the water park that opened this week.
Today we have a picture of Jacob and Violet posing with a structure they built at their Nan’s house with Jacob’s old Marble set. The two of the seem very proud of what they built. .
A couple of days ago I showed a picture of Violet posing in her new summer dress for Melissa. So today I thought I’d use one of Jacob modeling his new summer out fit Melissa picked up the other day. Looking at my growing boy in this picture I can’t believe we’ll be celebrating his 7th birthday in less than 2 weeks.
Tonight we mixed up dinner a little, instead of the usual plates we pulled out our new serving baskets. Probably would have been better suited to a patio dinner, but the rain kept use in doors. The kids seemed to like eating out of the baskets, I think we’ll be using them a lot this summer.
Today was parent teacher day at Violet’s pre-school. It was great to hear the different things they had to say about my little girl. She’s doing so well in class and it gives me confidence that she will excel in kindergarten when she starts in the fall.
