Today the city looks ready for christmas. It started to snow in the morning and didn’t stop till after the kids were home from school. I captured todays picture of the day during the walk home from school. Instead of heading straight home, the kids played in the snow with some of their friends from school for a little while. Of course that wasn’t enough for Violet who spent hours in the snow near our house playing and shoveling,

Today was the Lakeshore Santa Clause Parade. I didn’t think we’d actually see it today, but the kids really wanted to so when went an walked along the parade route. Parades are much faster when you walk towards the beginning. Today’s Picture of the day is of the kids getting candy cans from a parade elf.
POD: Barbequing in December

Tonight I came home to find that Jacob had eaten at his Nan’s house but Violet had slept through dinner. So after pondering what to make for the two of us, I fired up the barbecue and through on some Hotdogs for her and a couple burgers for me. My goal this winter is to barbeque at least once a month, part of me would like to try for once a week.

Looking back at NaNoWriMo 2014
The month is over, my mad dash to 50,000 words came up short. Very short. I didn’t even manage to write 15,000 words this year, and that’s including my background and world building work in my word count. Still as I sit here and look back at the month I feel like it’s been a success. I found a new world I want to explore with stories. My son wrote over 1000 words of his own novel and seemed to really enjoy the process. So I thought that I would take some time on this the first of December and write about my experiences during NaNoWriMo
POD: Meeting the Marlies
Today during the kids hockey the Marlies interrupted play to skate from their dressing room to the other end of the ice so they could go practice on the Maple Leafs practice rink. Today’s picture is from when they returned. Jacob’s line was on the ice at the time and it was cool to see the players high-fiving the little guys.
