Today Melissa and I headed to Jacob’s school to meet with his teacher. It’s interesting to hear her talk about how well our little man is doing. The one thing we were hoping to get out of the meeting was if we should put him in French immersion or keep him in his current school. Unfortunately we’re still unsure of what will be the best for Jacob. Still it was a good meeting and we’re very happy with his teacher and class this year.

POD: It has how many Pieces?
Today I put together one of Jacob’s Christmas presents. His Playmobil School, it’s quite a toy. Of course the thought of bringing it’s 492 pieces into our house seemed crazy, but when we opened it up it became clear that, that number included each little connector piece that I used to put it together. There sill are a lot of little pieces, but not quite 492.
POD: Snuggle-Up-and-Read 2
Once again Jacob’s school bag had books for Snuggle up and Read. So Mommy and him snuggled up on the couch and he read her a story. After wards they sat at the table and he wrote out the title, drew a picture from the book and wrote about it. It’s such a simple thing, but to watch as he does it is just great. Afterwards he’s so proud of his work, and so am I.
POD: Valentines Day
Today is Valentines day and our little family celebrated. My Picture is of the kids in their chairs with their Valentines treats from mommy and daddy. I was hopping for a better picture but when you have to young kids wanting treats it can be hard to get them to sit still.
POD: Jacob’s Valentines
Over the last couple of days Jacob and Melissa have been hard at work cutting, gluing and sparkling. Of course it was split between them, though Jacob wrote the names each of his 20 classmates. It’s amazing to watch how his handwriting is improving. Do kids have to grow up so fast?

POD: Want to buy some Chocolate?
Today Jacob brought home his first box of fund-raising chocolates. It’s quite a box, with a wide selection. Of course it’s tempting to support the school by buying the chocolate our selves, but that doesn’t fit with the diet. So it’s time to find friends and family who want to get a bar or box of $2 chocolate.

POD: A Note from Jacob
Today before bed Jacob brought me this note. It was so unexpected and sweet. Now I have my own spontaneous note from Jacob, back in November he gave one to Melissa (Project 365-321: A note for Mommy).
POD: My poor Baby Girl
We had our follow-up appointment at the fracture clinic. Our little girls collar-bone is broke in two places, and should heal on it own. She just has to keep her arm in sling. Day one with the sling went alright, sure there was times that she wanted off but for the most part she wore it all day. We’ve got a follow-up next Monday to make sure everything is healing alright. It’s hard to watch her when she’s clearly in pain and knowing there isn’t anything I can do to help.
