Today after work I loaded the kids up in the car and headed to Jacob’s Blastball practice and game. Our team was short-handed but the kids had fun, fielding and hitting. Our picture is of Jacob as he throws back the ball after a hit by the other team.
Today was my day at home with the kids, and one of my goals today was get a handle on Jacob’s Playmobil and all the little pieces that go with them. I planned to keep a couple of his birthday sets in their box until we had homes for all the little parts. I’m happy to say, we found a perfect home. It’s something I’ve had in our storage closet for years not being used. I think it’s for nails, screws, and the like. I used it for my HeroClix back in the day, but it was never very good at it. So now it’s a place for Jacob to store all the little pieces that come with his growing Playmobil collection.
Today we celebrated Jacob’s 5th birthday with friends ad family at Chuck-E-Cheese. And though it was a fun experience, it’s probable the last birthday our family celebrates there. Thanks to everyone for coming. We’ll be posting some pictures of Jacob opening his presents tomorrow.
Today’s picture is of our little diva in the cart while the family went shopping at the Super Store today. To be fair she was pretty good even pulling the cart at times.

Today my little man is 5 years old. It was five years ago today that I first held my little guy.
Today you are 5. It’s a start of a big year, with new responsibilities and challenges. Having watched you grow from my little baby to the young boy you are today I am confident in your ability to meet them. The last year has had its challenges, new school, new responsibilities and you handled them so well. Of course this new year will bring its own challenges, and you’ll have successes and failures but you will get through them.
Your first year of school is coming to an end and after a rough start you seem to love it. I hope you always will. Remember school provides the foundation for your future life. So its been with joy that I’ve watched you excel at it, From the class room to the playground you seem to thrive at school each and everyday. Your mother and I want to help you to succeed and to make sure that you are in the best school and program for that to happen. Your future at school could hold many things, from French Immersion to the Gifted program. What ever happens remember always try your hardest and your mother and I will always be proud of you.
Today was Jacob’s last day as a 4-year-old. Tomorrow is his 5th Birthday Where has the time gone. Melissa snapped this after school, he’s very excited about turning 5.
Today our picture of the day is from poor little Jacob, who a weekend of treats got the better of. Of course he wasn’t the only person feeling under the weather. I think my 2:45 run in the hot sun in the morning, might have been to much for me too.
Today Jacob’s friend Liam celebrated his 5th Birthday. Liam was born a mere 2 days before Jacob and it got me thinking, where has the time gone. In just 5 short days Jacob will be 5. It seems like yesterday that I was looking at him through the side of the incubator in the NICU.
