POD: Chore chart

For a while we’ve had a chart hanging on a wall with a bunch of chores that get checked off each day when there done. Jacob loves this chart, but for the longest time we just haven’t been following it. Well this weekend Jacob decided that he wanted to do it. Over the last few days we’ve done a bit of a fall clean up and Jacob joined in by setting up a list of chores on the board and doing them. He was very happy with him self so this morning he tweaked the list, and set about doing them. I didn’t prompt him once during the day, but as we were getting ready for bed we went to look at the list and it was complete.

Here’s today’s list:

  • Get dressed
  • Brush teeth
  • Help with indoor chores
  • Do homework
  • Say please and thank you
  • Clear table
  • Get ready for bed

POD: Hair cut

After talking about it for what feels like weeks, we finally took Jacob to get his hair cut. We’re thinking of heading back there with Violet in september to get her a trim, something she really wanted to do.

POD: Fashion show

Today Melissa tied some of Violets fall clothes on her. It was amusing to watch home much fun Violet had trying on the different clothes and posing for pictures. It can be such a hit and miss with her and clothes to add a camera and I was amazed that the clothes ran out before her interest. One thing that’s clear with both our kids is that they have short legs, which makes finding pants a bit of a challenge.

POD: Where’s the Water

Today I found some time to take the kids to the local splash pad, I’ve captured them waiting for the water to come back on. We were out there when Melissa got home from work and it got Melissa and I talking about how great our summer has been. Whats great is how much we are doing as a family, from our Camping trip, to evenings at the local pool. It’s been a great summer and I will be sad when it ends in a few weeks. Till then we have lots of  fun family adventures planned and I intent to enjoy each of them to the fullest.
