Today was the kids last day of swimming for the fall session. Which means that we’re going to have an early morning sitting on the internet to register them for the new year. We’ve also have to decide if Violet will continue with Tiny Tots, or move her up to pre-school. Is she ready to be in a class with 3 other kids? Should Jacob move from his small class ultra with four kids up to a regular sized ultra with 7 kids? At least we have a couple of weeks to decided.

Today we have a picture of the New Canadian 100 bill. I think it’s crazy that we’re moving towards plastic money, that’s see through. When I was holding it today I thought it felt like play money. In fact it reminded me of the money from our Monopoly Millennium Edition. Of course it will be a few more years before all our bills are updated to the new style.

This morning as I was getting ready for work, Violet took me by the hand and brought me to the kitchen to show me her artwork. She wanted me to take a picture of it, so I did. She loves ‘colouring’ and what she ‘colours’ she wants to display. To be fair, the one on the bottom right is Jacob’s, I’m not sure what he was drawing. It was an impressive collection she had managed to put together. I tried to get her to pose with her art but she wouldn’t stand still.

For the last few days Violet has wanted to watch Frosty the Snowman. I’ve meant to pull out the DVD and put it on for her, but I haven’t had a chance. I had checked Netflix but it wasn’t there, but it wasn’t. Tonight while Violet was asking to watch an episode of Strawberry Shortcake on my old phone, it occurred to me to check YouTube. And what do you know, there it was in three parts. So she sat on the coach and watched on my the little screen of my phone.

Today was laundry day at our house and little Violet wanted to help out. In fact we could hardly stop her. Her usual job is emptying the lint trap, today she did a bit of everything.

Today while heading home from Jacob’s hockey we met up with Melissa and Violet heading home from Violet’s ballet. While walking we saw a huge pile of leaves that was too much for the kids. It started with Jacob running through it. Violet followed him in and started to have some fun. It amazed me that of the dozen or so photo’s I took its the first one that captured the moment best. Though today’s bonus picture is pretty good too.

Today I called into the kitchen by Violet, she wanted to show me the Train she’d made. It’s great to see how her imagination works. I’m not sure what inspired her to make a train. It could have been that game of Ticket punching that her and Jacob were playing before she started. The Bob books on the chairs are the tickets, and thankfully they haven’t been punched. She was really proud of the train. It was a shame I had to put the chairs away to make dinner for the kids.

When I came home from day I found Mommy and Violet in the kitchen working together to clean our fidge. It was very sweet watching Violet trying to help Melissa. It was two cute a moment to pass up, so out came the phone and I knew I had my picture of the day.

We’re back from our little trip to the US. When we got back I realised I didn’t take as many pictures as I usually would. Of course I did manage to get a few that I’m currently sorting through, to put together into a post of its own. For now I thought I’d take a break and post my photo of the day and what better picture then Jacob relaxing at the outlet mall with an ice cream cone.

Today most of our family headed out on a little cross border vacation / shopping trip. No trip to the US would be complete without a trip to Target. Today’s picture is of Jacob posing in front on one of their stores; we’re looking forward to them opening up closer to home. Though the day was great and the evening swimming with Nana and Papa at the hotel was great. I miss my little girl. I hope she had a great day with her Nan.
