It’s been a long day Melissa hasn’t been feeling well so today we went to the hospital to get her checked out. We started the day with hopes of each of us heading into work after lunch. We captured today’s picture during our ride in, before we realized how the day would go. As midnight quickly approaches we are now hopping to be home before dawn. We’re sure everything will work out for the best, and it’s better to be dealing with now then next week when we’re on vacation in the states. It’s also give me the opportunity to try the posting process entirely from my phone.

POD: A Little girl and her Rock
| From Pictures of the Day 2012 |
Today after dinner the kids wanted to play outside, at least they did until they got out there and realized how chilly it was. At which point Jacob headed inside, but Violet got gloves and continue collecting her rocks.

It’s starting to feel like my picture of the day is becoming the Jacob picture of the day. I’m sure that will change in the coming days, but for today we have another picture of my boy. I captured this while we walked to the store to get milk. He’s getting so good on his bike, I’m wondering if we’ll be able to take the training wheels off before his birthday.
POD: Jacob’s laptop

Today we have a picture of Jacob working away on ‘his’ laptop. It was his Nana and Papa’s but as its aged they have upgraded and gave it to him to use. I’ve setup Ubuntu on it, it runs better than windows, and sence he mostly surfs the web, playing flash games and watching YouTube it doesn’t matter what OS he uses. I like it because it gives me a Ubuntu system that I can play with. At first he wasn’t happy when Violet stuck some stickers on it, though I think it adds character. I’m thinking it might be time to give Violet a turned at the laptop, she already likes watching Frosty the snow man, and Hello Kitty cartoons on YouTube.

It was a lazy kind of day, with or little family spending some time preparing for our up coming holiday and some just relax. I snapped this picture while Jacob read his book from school. Of course our lazy day got more exciting when a couple of Jacob’s friends knocked on the door around dinner time, It’s amazing how quickly the kids went from relaxing around the house to running around outside with friends.

Today was a work from home day, so I was able to give Jacob a treat for Lunch. Instead of making a sandwich and packing it in his lunch box in the morning, I picked up a sub from the local sub shop and took it to him at lunch. I took today’s picture of Jacob while I dropped off his lunch.
POD: Grill Cheese Day

Today was national grilled cheese day, so of course my kids had grilled cheese for dinner… Well they did have grilled cheese, but it wasn’t till later that Melissa’s co-worker texted her about it. I’m not sure why it’s national grilled cheese day, but I’m happy to say that in our little family celebrated it.
POD: Heading to a Meeting

Tonight I had a meeting at Jacob’s school. One of the pluses is that they have childcare so the kids got to go with me. So while I had my meetings the kids got to play in Jacob’s classroom. It was fun watching Violet in Jacob’s class room. She’s so excited about going to pre-school in the fall.
POD: Hearing Test

Today Jacob had an appointment with the Ears Nose and Throat doctor, but before we saw the doctor he had to have a hearing test. It’s the second time he’s had the test, and he was quite excited to get into the both. I’m happy to say that he’s ear’s looked good and for now, he wont need tubes, though we’ll reassess if he has another round of ear infections this fall.
Baking Cookies
| From Blog Post: Baking Cookies |
Friday was a busy day for our little family. First some of us had to work, and we had plans for dinner at Nana’s and Papa’s. In between we managed to back some cookies. Both our children were very excited about the idea of making cookies. I took over 200 pictures during the backing of the cookies, so it took some time to go through them and choose ones to share.
