Today Violet’s DS Team laced up their first skates for the first Tournament of the hockey season. They were so excited to get out on the ice and see how they compared to the other teams. The day was started with a nail biter. It ended in a 1-1 tie, with the Dolphins tieing it up with 0.10 seconds left in the game. The second game was a 6-3 win for our Dolphins.

Today one of Violet’s teammates invited the team to Canlan for their annual boxing day skate. She was so excited to go and hit the ice with her friends. I love this picture of her and her teammates sitting on the boards waiting to jump on the ice and start their shift in the game they were playing.

Christmas morning is for the kids, so for my picture of the day I have some shots of the kids as they opened their presents.

After an afternoon celebrating with my family, it was time to get down with our little family’s Christmas tradition, the First gifts of Christmas. Every year the kids know that they get to open one present on Christmas eve. They know that they’ll be PJs, but they look forward to it every year.

As the school year, it’s time to bring gifts to the kid’s teachers.

Today after school we headed out to do some of our final Christmas shopping. It’s not last-minute shopping, that’s reserved for Saturday. While picking Ruby’s present at Petsmart the kids each found a pet they wanted to bring home. While Jacob’s fish may one day find its way home, I don’t think we’ll ever be bringing home a Guinea pig for Violet.

Tonight the kid’s school has their Christmas Concert. Of course, it was complicated by Violet’s DS Christmas hockey skate and party. Of course for our little hockey diva, missing either wouldn’t do. So we started our night skating, before heading to the school to for the concert. After her song, Violet headed back to the rink to finish the Christmas party with her team.

Tonight we have a picture of Violet in her happy place. In front of the net with her stick on the ice.

Today I picked up Violet’s new mouth guard from the dentist. I love that we get a plaster mold of her teeth to go with the guard.

Today Jingles seems to have been craving some cookies.
