Today I took Ruby out for some fetch. I captured today’s picture of the day while we played.

Today we headed down to the Canadian National Exhibition. It’s a bitter-sweet tradition for our family. It’s sweet because we always have fun, and today was no exception. Even with the rainy weather we all had a blast. It’s better because it also means that summer is coming to an end. It of course was also a long day, so even though I took a ton of pictures, I thought this one of the lit up ferris wheel would be a great way to capture the day.

A few weeks back at camp Violet painted this ceramic monkey, because of our family adventure getaway it wasn’t till today that she brought it home. I’m really impressed with the paint job she did with the little guy.

Today we have a picture of our little butterfly. After camp today my mom took the kids to the comunity block party where Violet had her face painted.

Tonight I have a picture of Violet and Ruby. Violet as trying to make Ruby look pretty, the truth was she was doing anything to stay out of bed. Ruby was a good sport. It was a very cute moment.

For the last few weeks I’ve played a game
Ingres on my phone. I like the merging of digital and real world of the game. Of course this means that when I’m out walking I often go an extra block here and there to ‘Hack’ a portal. The kids aren’t really fans of this, often groaning when I insist we walk past the local library so I can check on my portal. The real winner is Ruby, our evening walks have grown longer as I get more into the game. Tonight we went all over the neighbourhood as I tried to capture 3 portals and establish a Control Field.

Today’s picture of the day is Jacob riding a bike at the local park. It wasn’t his bike, and was a littke big for him. Of course to me it was just a preview of next summer.

Today we spend the morning running around doing errands and the afternoon at the local park for what was supposed to be a water war. We did have a war, but the kids were quickly distracted by other kids and spent the time playing while the old folks relaxed on the grass. Between the excitement we found time to take Ruby to the dog park. We were the only ones there, but Ruby still had fun chasing her disc and playing with Violet.

Today we have a picture of Jacobs camp certificate. The entire camp was a bit of a surprise. We were just browsing the Microsoft store at Square One when Jacob came running up asking if he could join the camp. Next thing we know he has 2 hours of Microsoft camp for a few days. He loved it, the only disappointing thing is that we didn’t a copy of the movie he created, the service they used to share it was down when his class was wrapping up. I called to see if they could email it to me but the weren’t sure if it was still on the computer he used. I’m still hoping to get it, if I do I’ll share it here.

Today I have a collage of the kids at the plat from baseball tonight. Of course for Jacobs team the big games start next week with their first playoff double-header.
