Today we were at Sail looking for camp supplies for the kids. While there Violet found the fishing rods. Well, not all kids are the same. Some kids like the outdoors, some kids don’t. She seemed really interested in them…
Before I take her fishing I need to know the territory, because kids will feel safer if they see that you’re comfortable with fishing. I’m thinking in either checking out the fishing spot or go fishing with the captain, once I choose a charter I like. first thing I’d do is try to meet other anglers who fish in the area, who know how to fish off a pier, and talk to them. They can help me out with choosing the best bait and spot.
I plan to start with a shorter trip, keep it to a half day trip. We can do a lot of solid fishing in four hours and most kids will get bored by the time the trip is done anyway. No need to push them to the breaking point. Perhaps I’ll have to take her fishing one day…

Today we have a picture of Jacob with his Nana and Papa from theMississauga Ribfest.

Today I headed to the local outdoor pool with the kids for some swimming fun. After swimming around a bit it Jacob insisted that we shouldn’t leave till Violet had at least tried the deep end test. Violet wasn’t interested in going to the deep end, but agreed to do the test. A test she passed, even with the addition of a minute treading water. Of course after that we spent most of our time in the deep end. I was so proud of her. of course I’m also amused by the fact that though I have the freedom to head to the deep end I don’t think I could past the tests the kids have to.

It was such a beautiful day I had to make sure that the kids had an opportunity to enjoy it. So we headed out for a but of fun at one of our local parks, and of course I couldn’t leave Ruby at home during our fun.

Tonight while trying to avoid bed Violet asked if she could have a small pad of post its I had sitting on my desk. I said sure, because as much as I plan on using them I never do. A little while later she came back with this picture of a little girl holding a bunch of balloons flying through the air.
Tonight I have a little silly picture I took during Jacob’s soccer game. I was sitting there watching Jacob cheering him on when Violet handed me her Shopkin so that she could go off and play with another little girl. The next thing I knew I had taken today’s picture of the day.

Today was a relaxed family day spent enjoying the sun shine. It was also a perfect opertunity for Violet to work on her cartwheels. All summer she has been on a mission to learn how to do a cartwheel. It’s amazing to see who she continues to improve.

This evening after Soccer practice we found some time to spend with the “Contemplating Child”. Violet really loved climbing all over the statue. Her Nana wasn’t as big of a fan of her climbing.

Today we have a picture of Ruby I took at the park with Ruby. We’re playing tug-a-war with her plastic through toy. Usually I don’t play like that with her toys but this ones on its last legs.

So far this summer day camp has been a disappointment for our eldest. Though today when he came home he was excited about the Master Chief challenged they had today. As part of it he made a ‘pizza pocket’. It looks taste, but the chocolate, cheese and strawberry seems a little odd.
