Today was a day of relaxing around the house, with a bit of work thrown in. We’re finding homes for some of the new things that have come in and trying to decide how we want our living room to look. It’s been the mostly the same since we moved in 2 years ago and it’s time for a change. Keeping with the theme started yesterday of show just a glimpse of our new living room at a time, todays picture is of Jacob and Violet’s new chairs. Stay tuned in the coming days to see the rest of our changes.

Christmas morning, and Jacob’s face as he comes down the stairs says it all. It was a long but great day and I want to thank all the family that we got to share this day with.

After a night of family fun at Melissa’s dad’s we came home and did our Christmas tradition, kids opened 2 presents (PJs and a Book).Put the milk and cookies out for Santa, plus carrots for the reindeer. Read the Night Before Christmas before tucking our little ones in for the night. It was a great way to spend Christmas eve. Of course once the kids were in bed Santa came and put out all the gifts.

Today Nana and Papa took Jacob out to get presents for Mommy and Daddy. He was very excited to go on an evening adventure to the mall. It was great that he could spend the time with Nana and Papa plus be able to put something under the tree. Thanks Lynn and Dan.

Today our little artist completed his first commissioned work. You see on our fridge we have a little frame for displaying kids artwork. Jacob didn’t have anything small enough so it just had the sheet of paper that came with it that said ‘A Place for my artwork’. Well Jacob was reading that while I was washing up some dishes and I thought if we pulled out that paper he could draw something that we could display. As you can see in our picture that he really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the first paper that was in the frame was glossy and his drawing didn’t really stand out on it. So he did a second piece.

Tonight I took the time to be Santa’s helper. Well not really Santa as the Kitchen is a gift from my mom., So I spend the evening going through the box and putting it all together.

Tonight Melissa spent the evening gluing Red noses and googly eyes to candy canes. Well once we disposed of the cheap new glue gun and pulled out her crafty glue gun from storage. It’s impressive to watch the way she works through 58 candy canes. Of course it’s for a good cause, the children at Gilda’s Club.

Today we have a follow-up to last weeks picture of me making coffee with a kettle and my broken coffee maker. Our picture is of our shiny new coffee maker my mom surprised me with last night. One interesting thought about this coffee maker is that it continues a tradition I hadn’t realised I’d started. I have never bought my own coffee maker. I’ve had coffee makers since before I moved out from my mom’s house but to this day I haven’t bought a single one.

Today we hosted a small Christmas Dinner with Protoulis family. We had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It was a great to have the four kids running around the place, though at times they could get a little loud. Its evenings like this with family that will make for great traditions we can share with our kids in the years to come.

Today Jacob and Violet decorated the tree, well Jacob put on the ornaments and Violet took them off. Of course they needed a little help with the higher ornaments.
