Today Jacob headed back to school. He was very excited about getting back to school and seeing his friends. I snapped today’s picture while we headed to school this morning.

Today we spent a great morning with friends, celebrating a late Christmas with their kids and ours, and though I took a bunch of pictures of it. I couldn’t settle on one to use as my Picture of the day. Instead I thought I’d use this one of Violet with her Papa I took later in the day.

Today was Jacob’s first hockey game of 2012, and by the look of it he really wanted to be out there. Our picture is of Jacob getting ready to take the first face off of the game. The only problem was his line was supposed to start the game on the bench. I like to see Jacob trying to get into the play, perhaps soon he will be taking the first face off of the game.

Today I didn’t manage to capture an image that I wanted to use as my POD. This was a problem that I needed to solve. While looking around the living room I saw Melissa’s Willow Tree collection and that they might be a good subject for the photo. I picked out a few of the family figures and took a few pictures. I like the way they show the different stages of family.

Today I bit the bullet and singed away my freedom for the next 3 years. That’s right I got a new Cell phone. I got a HTC Amaze from
Telus. I usually would use a picture of the phone, or of my unboxing. But this picture makes me wonder who was more excited by my new phone, me or Jacob. I will be doing a right up on the phone in the coming weeks, but the one thing you can be sure of, is that my POD will get an upgrade with its 8 Mega pixel camera.

Today was the last day of my holiday’s tomorrow it’s back to work, so we spent it as a family. That included a trip to the mall with Melissa’s mom. While there I snapped todays picture of the day of Melissa trying on a at. I think she should have bought it.

Today we celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of the new year. It’s a time for looking back at the goals you set for the year that was and to set new goals for the year to come. But that will wait. For now it’s time to Celebrate. And though Melissa was working, the kids and I had a little party. Hopefully one year Melissa will be able to make it and we can enter in the new year as a family. neither of the kids had any of the champagne(Ginger Ale) today, but they loved the Chips, Cheetos and Candy.
Happy New Year

Today we have a picture of Violet playing with Jacob’s Mario Kart Racers. She was really enjoying watching them race. Of course she didn’t like it when they ended up under the couch.

Last week was Christmas, and though I shared a great picture of Santa when he came to our house. I didn’t share any pictures of our celebrations with family either at Melissa’s Dads or any of the kids putting out milk and cookies for Santa’s return. We have some great traditions for our little family on Christmas Eve and Christmas day that I really enjoy sharing with my kids.

Today the kids finally got to play in the snow. There wasn’t enough for building a Frosty or a Snowball fight, but they did make Snow Angels and tried to make snow balls.I find it funny that watching them I was cold. It didn’t seem to bother them though. After playing in the snow we headed to my Mom’s place for a small gathering with family. I took some pictures there and I was really tempted to us one of them for my picture of the day. In the end I went with the fun in the snow because of how much the kids have wanted it to snow so that they could play in it. I will be sharing pictures from our family gathering once I get through the back log of events from the holidays.
