After dinner tonight I headed to the park with the kids to enjoy the warm evening. While there I was pushing Violet on the swing and she pointed up to the sky and said the Moon Daddy. Looking up at the moon in the clear blue sky, I wished I had the SLR instead of just my cell phone to capture the moment. You see one of the things I want to learn, is how to take good pictures of the moon, and today would have been a great day to get started. Of course the first thing I realised when I stated taking a picture of the day is that you use the camera you have. I think I did a good job of capturing the moment with just my phone.
Today while Jacob did some math sheets Violet decided to draw a picture of the family. You can see she drew her mommy (Top left) her Daddy (Top Right), her Brother bottom left and finally herself (Bottom Right). She also did one of our cat Chloe, but that didn’t make it into the picture. She was quite possessive of her art, I was lucky to get them setup like that long enough to get a picture.
Today was Jacob’s last hockey game of the year. His team came up just short of winning it all. Loosing the second game of the best of three 2-1. The winning goal was scored in the last minute of the first overtime. It was a great game to watch and though Jacob ended the season without a goal, he tried hard and had a few close shots. He did manage to get player of the game one week as well as an assist. Watching his improvement during the season has been great.

Today we have a picture of some Art that Jacob brought home from school today. I guess he’s class is learning about Easter. I’m not sure what to say about his little Jesus, I just knew I wanted to share him with my readers. I will say that all his classmates came out with them.
Today Violet had her yearly checkup, it should have been back in January but life got in the way of scheduling the appointment soon. So today Violet and Daddy headed off to the doctors. She wasn’t in the mood from the get go, and though I thought she’d calmed down by the time we got to the doctor’s office. Unfortunately once we got into the room to wait to see our doctor she wanted to go home. I tried to calm her down by showing her the cat clock on the wall. It didn’t work, but I did get this great picture. I have to say that it was one of the hardest doctor’s visits I’ve had with either of the kids, I’m just glad there was no needles today.
Our picture tonight, is a little blurry, I took it with my front facing camera in lot light. It was just such a great picture of Jacob on my lap reading that I cleaned it up a little bit and there you have it. He’s ready this weeks book for school. It astounds me how well he reads.
We as a family headed out to enjoy the sunshine today. Jacob had an adventure with Nan, while the rest of the family did some shopping before heading to the park for some fun. Our picture today is of Violet waiting for her daddy to help her slide down the pole at the big playground near our house. It was nice to be able to spend the afternoon out at the park with the kids. It’s just the first of many afternoon’s well spend enjoying the warm weather during the coming summer.

Today was the first game of Jacob’s house league finals. It was a hard game for his team, they played the third game of their first round series Friday night at 7:30 and were back on the Ice today at 11:30. He’s team played hard, but in the end they fell 4-3. The other team winning it on the last shift. Today’s picture is of Jacob getting on the Ice for his second shift of the game.

Today was the third game of Jacob’s first playoff series in hockey. I’m not sure if it was a usual friday night crowd at the MasterCard Centre or if it was filled with parents watching the playoffs, what I do know is that there was no were to park. Of course since we were in papa’s jeep, other options presented themselves.
On our trip to the mall the other night (POD: Shopped out!) we picked up a new pair of shoe’s for Jacob. I wasn’t sure if he’d like the higher cut, but when he saw the lights on the side he had to have them. I’m happy to say after a couple of days he still loves them. Now if they last as long as his last pair of Geox, mommy and daddy will be happy.
