From Picture of the Day 2013

Today we have a picture of my sleeping daughter with her new Sofia the First doll that her Nana got her tonight after Ballet. She loves that doll and wouldn’t put it down since she got home.

This morning Violet came downstairs with an empty toilet paper roll and an empty tissue box and asked me to help her make a car. We didn’t have time before school, but I helped her cut up the Toilet paper roll to wheels. When I got home from work, I found that she’d been busy. She’s even added seats inside for her dolls to sit on. It’s quite a little project for her, one that she’s going to take to show her teacher tomorrow, so I thought I should show my readers it first.

Today a few friends shared this video on Facebook. I saw it and knew I had to re-share it. Violet watched the video with me four times before we went to the site www.goldieblox.com and watched all the video’s of the different creations. I think I know what I’m going to get my little girl for her birthday (I would do Christmas but I think we’re done shopping for her already.)

Today the kids brought home there Scholastic books from school, Violet got a Pinkalicious Christmas story, Jacob a Lego Legends of Chima book , and Nan got today’s picture of the day, A Porcupine in a Pine Tree.  It’s a great book, that I will enjoy reading to the kids this Christmas season.

Today Jacob’s Beaver Troop had a flashlight walk through Colonel Samuel Smith Park. Jacob seemed to have a fun time. I thought the view of the city was spectacular, unfortunately my phone’s camera couldn’t truly capture it. Though Id did like how this picture turned out.

Today the kids and I headed to our Friends Ben and Jen’s house for the afternoon of crafts and the Santa Clause Parade. The kids had a great time playing and painting Christmas Ornaments, before watching the parade on TV. I just wish Melissa would have been up to join us, she stayed home in bed. Thanks Ben and Jen for a lovely afternoon.

For thеѕе еаѕу dесоrаtіоnѕ, ѕеlесt three colors. Try brіght рrіmаrу соlоrѕ fоr traditional bulbѕ, or deep/rich colors іf you are gоіng for a mоrе Victorian еrа fееl. Using аbоut оnе tеаѕрооn of еасh асrуlіс paint, drop the paint inside the bulb, and thеn cover thе ореnіng with уоur finger. Swіrl thе раіnt inside thе bаll bу ѕhаkіng оr ѕlоwіng rоllіng іt tо соmрlеtеlу coat the inside оf thе bulb.

If you want tо раіnt designs on thе оutѕіdе оf thе bulb, соnѕіdеr рrасtісіng your dеѕіgn first оn a paper bаg or оthеr surface. Rіbbоnѕ, ѕtаrѕ, and thе rесіріеnt’ѕ name аrе all gооd, ѕіmрlе choices; іf уоu аrе mоrе аrtіѕtіс, try a Sаntа, rеіndееr, or ѕnоwflаkе. Tо аdd ѕоmе interest, uѕе thе “wrong” еnd оf thе раіntbruѕh. Dip it in thе раіnt аnd put a fеw dots аrоund уоur bulb. Thіѕ іѕ also a gооd wау to make реrfесtlу rоund hоllу berries.

Today I have a picture of the new $10 bill. I forget when it launched, but I got my first one today so I thought I’d share it. I’m still not used to the plastic feel of the new money. Perhaps in time I’ll get used to it.

Today was parent teacher night at the kid’s school. A night that hasn’t always gone well for our boy. We’ll today went great. Both Violet and Jacob are doing great this year. We asked both teachers is there something we could work on at home with the kids, for Violet we were told nothing. For Jacob it was to work on his printing, which can be good if he doesn’t rush through his work. It felt really good to hear the teachers talk about our kids tonight.  While we were in the kids class rooms I took a picture of one of their works and put them together for nights POD:

Today I found this letter Jacob has been working of for Santa. I’m quite impressed with the job he’s done. I didn’t know he’d started working on it and there it. Now we just have to get Violet to write one.
