POD: Barbequing in December

Tonight I came home to find that Jacob had eaten at his Nan’s house but Violet had slept through dinner. So after pondering what to make for the two of us, I fired up the barbecue and through on some Hotdogs for her and a couple burgers for me. My goal this winter is to barbeque at least once a month, part of me would like to try for once a week.

Tech Tuesday: NaNoWriMo

Yesterday I wrote about my personal experience competing in NaNoWriMo, Today I thought I would take a look at the different technology I used to try to reach 50,000 words. My first year I had a personal notebook that I wrote on quite successfully. In the years since my laptop died and I haven’t replaced really replaced it. So instead I’ve tried a few different technologies for writing my novel. One year I had hopped to write on my Motorola Milestone, I thought with its slide out keyboard it would be perfect. It wasn’t. So this year I was thrilled when through some opportunities at home and work I started November we access to a Laptop and a Tablet to write my novel. So I thought I’d break this post into two parts, first I will compare the Hardware and then I will compare the different software I used.

Looking back at NaNoWriMo 2014

Shield-Nano-Side-Blue-Brown-RGB-HiResThe month is over, my mad dash to 50,000 words came up short. Very short. I didn’t even manage to write 15,000 words this year, and that’s including my background and world building work in my word count. Still as I sit here and look back at the month I feel like it’s been a success. I found a new world I want to explore with stories. My son wrote over 1000 words of his own novel and seemed to really enjoy the process. So I thought that I would take some time on this the first of December and write about my experiences during NaNoWriMo
