Well it took just under 13 months but Melissa has finally managed to give Violet pigtails. Not sure what inspired her to try this morning but she did and found that it worked. They are pretty small pigtails but I have to say they are cute. Though they represent something I don’t like admitting, My baby girl is growing up.

Project 365-043: Opening Ceremonies
Tonight is the Opening Ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic games. I had hopped to watch the opening Ceremonies with Melissa, but it wasn’t to be. She’s off at work and though I thought of keeping Jacob awake to watch with me, I think he might be just a little to young. I’m hoping to watch some of the events with him over the next few weeks. The Ceremonies have been quite a spectacle. I’m quite excited about the Olympics this year, and I’m hoping that I can get Jacob at least a little interested in the different sports. Though I don’t think Melissa is going to appreciate me trying to watch curling.
Project 365-042: Bundled Up
Tonight while Melissa was off at work, I bundled up the kids and headed out for a little walk with my mom to shoppers to pick up some supplies for Jacob to take to pre-school tomorrow. We’re putting together little Valentines packages for each of his class mates. While we were walking Jacob tried to push the stroller but it was to hard for him with his mitts on. So he was content just holding on to the side.
Project 365-041: Mixing Up Playtime
Tonight for play time with Jacob we built a shed for his trains out of Lego. We started by making letters out of his Lego and spelling his name, but then the thought of a shed for his trains came up and away we went. It was a fun time. Though as it seems is always the problem with Lego we didn’t have enough pieces.
Project 365-040: Medication
Tonight we take a look at Jacobs Meds. Today Jacob started a third treatment for his double ear infections. It started a week and a half ago when he complained of ear pain, after a trip to the Kids Clinic (Project 365 Day 28). We followed up with a trip to the pediatrician last Wednesday to do a check for swimming and just to make sure it was healing, it wasn’t, he got a boost to the first round of Antibiotics and an ear drop. So today when he complained about his ear hurting we scheduled another visit to his doctor. Turns out that both ears have a perforated eardrum and now he’s on a another round of Antibiotic. I’m really hoping that this super strength drug does the trick and his ears can get better.
Project 365-039: The Cat
When I was thinking about today’s photo it occurred to me that I haven’t posted a picture of the 5th member of the family in a while. This is Chloe, our cat. She’s a sweet little thing, except when she’s not. One interesting thing is the different reactions the kids had to her. When Jacob was a baby he didn’t have much interest in Chloe, but Violet loves her. She gets excited when she sees her and tries to grab her all the time. Overall Chloe has been good with her, though there are times she’s been close to taking a swipe at Violet so we always have to watch them when they are together.
Project 365-038: Ties
When I started my daily blogging back in October I joined NaBloPoMo, National Blog Posting Month. Each month they challenge there members to post everyday to their blog. It’s a great community of people and one that I find I don’t take advantage of enough. So today I thought I’d do a post around this months suggested theme, TIES.
In a couple of months Melissa’s mom is formalizing her long time relationship by getting married. They have been planning the wedding for the last couple of months and as time goes by the plans change. The original plan was for the guys to were black suits and red ties, so they went out and picked up matching red ties for everyone. Plans have changed and now it seems instead of wearing our black suits and red ties we’re going to be renting suits. So now I have a nice red tie without an anywhere to wear it.

Project 365-036: A little bit of Summer
Project 365-035: Casing the Joint
Ever since Jacob was old enough to enjoy going to playgrounds I have found myself taking a moment to look over any I pass trying to decided if it would be worth bringing Jacob to. Today as I was on my way to a clients office and I couldn’t help but snap a few pictures of a little playground. I’ve passed it a number of times so I had already determined that though he would enjoy it, as he enjoys any playground. It wasn’t worth the trip. Taking these pictures and writing this up makes me think of 2 other playgrounds I have filed away that I want to take Jacob to, perhaps next time I pass them I’ll snap a few pictures to share. Or maybe the next time I pass them will be with Jacob and I can get some action shots.
