Today Melissa and I rushed Violet to the Just For Kids clinic at St. Joes. We rushed because we wanted to get there before they closed. The web said that was 8 but the secretary said we should be there before 7 next time. We were seen because the doctors were standing there when we walked in and said they’d be back shortly(they’d been called to the Er). I was confused why they would post the Hours as till 8 but not want anyone to come during the last hour. Wouldn’t that mean that they really closed at 7? The only thing I could find that supported what the secretary said was the sign in the picture. The waiting room was nearly empty so it just didn’t make sence. I understand wanting to leave early but shouldn’t the kids be more important.
Update on Violet, she’s doing ok except for ulcers in her moth that cause her a lot of pain. We’ve got medication and hope that it will clear up in the next few days.

Today Violet got her hands on Jacobs DS and brought it over to me. She promptly sat on my lap and expiramented with the different buttons. I couldn’t help but snap the picture.

Today as we were heading out to visit with Lisa and her kids Jacob needed a time out. So we sat him down to let him calm down. Violet was worried about her big brother so she sat down with him to see what was up.

Today was a lazy vaction day, which was nice. We puttered about in the morning, with errins and chores. Then after a nap for Violet and a movie for Jacob we went out to the splash pad to play. I though for sure that my picture of the way would come from there but the kids had other ideas. When we got home Jacob wanted to take is big wheel for a spin, but so did Violet. So as Jacob rode off she gave chase.

Today Jacob got to spend the day with his Nan. A morning at church and an afternoon of lunch and fun for the two of them. I thought it was nice because before Violet the two of them used to go on lots of adventures, so it was nice that they could have one today. When Violet and I went to pick him up the two kids lounged on the couch while I looked over my moms computer, I couldn’t help but snap a couple of pictures.

Beer is not something I usually have in my house, but today I made a special trip to the Beer store to pick up a six-pack so I could enough an evening beer at home during my vacation. The hardest part was standing at the beer store looking at the wall of beer trying to decided what to get. In the end I got my choice down to two different Mill Street beers, The Tank House or the Coffee Porter. As you can see I went with the Tank House.

I like my Job, on most days I find the work challenging and often find that the end of the day comes without me realising it. Either my boss will call on the intercom and ask if I’m wrapping up, or Melissa will IM me and ask if I’m heading home soon. But today, though the project I’m working on is fun and challenging I found myself looking at the clock. Wishing the minutes would go by faster. See today was my last day of work before my vacation. Sure it’s only a week off and we’re not going anywhere exciting, but I’m really looking forward to spending a the time with Melissa and the kids. After all everything is changing, Jacob starts school in just over a month and Violet just keeps growing up, learning new works and getting into new mischief. Its time I want with the family. We will be doing things during our vacation, visiting friends and family, perhaps a trip to the island or maybe Ontario Place. Maybe even take a family ride over to high park for a day of picnicking and family fun. We may only have 10 days, but we’ll make the most of them.

I had hoped to take a meaningful picture for my 200th shot, but with my board meeting tonight I ran out of time. What I did manage to do was get a picture from up high looking out at the Go Trains.

Today’s skating lesson was a mixed bag. At times Jacob seemed to listen to the instructors and his skating has really sped up. Though at times he still skated off on his own, and didn’t listen when the instructors tried to get him back with the group. I just have to keep telling myself, he’s only 4 and he is getting better. We just need to get him to focus a little better.

Today I headed out to the Gym with Melissa. It felt like its been weeks sence I headed to the gym. Of course its been maybe a week. I thought about doing different equipment, like Melissa’s favourite Elliptical or maybe weights, but in the end I just did 45 minutes on the treadmill. I managed to run for 3 sets of ten at around 6 mph plus a nice 3 minute 8.5 mph sprint at the end.
