Today Nana and Papa took Jacob out to get presents for Mommy and Daddy. He was very excited to go on an evening adventure to the mall. It was great that he could spend the time with Nana and Papa plus be able to put something under the tree. Thanks Lynn and Dan.

Project 365-356: Drawing for the Fridge
Today our little artist completed his first commissioned work. You see on our fridge we have a little frame for displaying kids artwork. Jacob didn’t have anything small enough so it just had the sheet of paper that came with it that said ‘A Place for my artwork’. Well Jacob was reading that while I was washing up some dishes and I thought if we pulled out that paper he could draw something that we could display. As you can see in our picture that he really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the first paper that was in the frame was glossy and his drawing didn’t really stand out on it. So he did a second piece.

Project 365-354: Candy Cane Reindeers
Tonight Melissa spent the evening gluing Red noses and googly eyes to candy canes. Well once we disposed of the cheap new glue gun and pulled out her crafty glue gun from storage. It’s impressive to watch the way she works through 58 candy canes. Of course it’s for a good cause, the children at Gilda’s Club.
Mobile Monday: Fancy Widget
Today’s app isn’t an app at all, it’s a Widget. Fancy Widget is a simple widget that shows Time, Date and weather on your home screen. I’ve tried a few different widgets for this but overall I like the clean look of this one best. Though in truth I’m not sure if I like devoting 2 rows of my home screen to this information.
Project 365-353: Coffee Maker Surprise
Today we have a follow-up to last weeks picture of me making coffee with a kettle and my broken coffee maker. Our picture is of our shiny new coffee maker my mom surprised me with last night. One interesting thought about this coffee maker is that it continues a tradition I hadn’t realised I’d started. I have never bought my own coffee maker. I’ve had coffee makers since before I moved out from my mom’s house but to this day I haven’t bought a single one.
Project 365-352: Christmas with Family
Today we hosted a small Christmas Dinner with Protoulis family. We had a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. It was a great to have the four kids running around the place, though at times they could get a little loud. Its evenings like this with family that will make for great traditions we can share with our kids in the years to come.
Project 365-351: Decorating
Today Jacob and Violet decorated the tree, well Jacob put on the ornaments and Violet took them off. Of course they needed a little help with the higher ornaments.
Project 365-350: Huron Carol
Tonight was Jacob’s first ever Christmas Concert at school. I was really impressed with how well the whole class preformed. Only problem is that right at the beginning of the performance one of Jacob’s classmates stood in front of him blocking him from my cameras for most of the show. I should have got up and tried to get a better angle, but I didn’t want to miss it and taking 2 videos and stills was a little tricky. It was a fun evening even after watching all the other grades in his school perform.
Project 365-349: Speeding along
Todays picture was taken as I spend along the Gardiner Expressway. With the snow on the ground it makes for a nice picture, though I had hopped to catch more of the Sunnyside Pavilion in the shot.
