Today Melissa and I were looking for Party supplies at Wal-Mart and while looking we came across these three Dora piñatas. The one in the middle seems a little off. Dora is Mexican, so why are they selling a Dora Piñata that’s whiter then snow?

With a new year comes some changes to Geek With Kids. One is that I’ve complete Project 365 and will not be doing it again in 2011. Instead I’ll be doing a Picture of the Day, for the readers it’ll be about the same, though there are some differences. I’m working on a post for the new year, where I talk about how I did on last years challenges and what new challenges I’ve set for myself for the coming year. It also explains how my Picture of the Day will work.

In our first Picture of the Day we see the dangers of little ones and markers. I’m not sure what inspired Jacob to draw on his face, he says he wanted whiskers, but I’m not sure what to think. All I know is while I was cooking dinner he walked in and I was shocked to see three lines on each cheek. After getting him to had over the marker, I snapped a few pictures and cleaned him up.

Today the kids and I had a little new years eve party. We celebrated early and with Ginger Ale instead of Champaign but it was fun little celebration. Of course Violet stuck with water, though she did get to use the fancy glass. I hope next year Melissa will be home to ring in the new year with us.

Today our little family found ourselves waiting at the Health card office. We were there to renew Melissa and Violet’s health card. Keeping both Violet and Jacob entertained in while we waited was a bit of a challenge, but we managed it. Violet was fascinated by the Pizza Pizza she could see from the window. Jacob had his new Leapster Explorer so it wasn’t to bad.

Today Melissa and I took the kids to Balls of Fun, the Ultimate Ball Gym. We met Lisa and her 2 kids there. It was quite a place. Jacob and Violet had a blast throwing and kicking the balls around the place. Plus the climbing area with slides was a big hit. It’s a real shame it’s so fair away, I would love to be able to take the kids there more often.

Today we put on Violet’s Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray for her to watch. It was so cute to watch as she curled up on her new chair to watch the movie. Our baby girl is growing up to fast. In just 23 days she’ll be 2… where does the time go?

Today was a day of relaxing around the house, with a bit of work thrown in. We’re finding homes for some of the new things that have come in and trying to decide how we want our living room to look. It’s been the mostly the same since we moved in 2 years ago and it’s time for a change. Keeping with the theme started yesterday of show just a glimpse of our new living room at a time, todays picture is of Jacob and Violet’s new chairs. Stay tuned in the coming days to see the rest of our changes.

Today was boxing day so Melissa and I decided we’d had enough of dead pixels and headed out for a new TV. While out we decided to update out TV stand. We also figured if we were going to get a new TV we might as well get a bigger one, so we now have a 47” LG.

Christmas morning, and Jacob’s face as he comes down the stairs says it all. It was a long but great day and I want to thank all the family that we got to share this day with.

After a night of family fun at Melissa’s dad’s we came home and did our Christmas tradition, kids opened 2 presents (PJs and a Book).Put the milk and cookies out for Santa, plus carrots for the reindeer. Read the Night Before Christmas before tucking our little ones in for the night. It was a great way to spend Christmas eve. Of course once the kids were in bed Santa came and put out all the gifts.
