This weekend we brought home a globe from Nana and Papa’s house. It’s great to have in the house, watching Jacob spin the globe looking for different countries.

POD: First Juices box
Today was mothers day, so because Jacob said that you have orange juices on Mothers Day we picked some up. So during our Mothers day brunch I poured Violet a glass of watered down juice. It’s the first time we’ve given her juice, so we were curious to see how she’d react: ‘Yucky’ was her response before pushing away the cup. So at Nana’s house when Jacob came outside with a Kool-Aid Aid Juice box we let her try it., thinking she wouldn’t like it. Of course Kool-Aid isn’t orange Juice and she seemed to really like it, though she didn’t finish it.
POD: Big Girl Bed
Today was quite a day and as always seems to happen on days where I have the perfect picture of the day, I end the day with 2 or 3 pictures that I would be more than happy to use as my picture of the day. Usually I choose one and share the other as bonus pictures. Today it’s a little different. No bonus pictures. I’m planning to use the other pictures in a general post in the coming week, so stay tuned. Now back to today’s picture of the day. For the last couple of months we’ve been planning on moving Violet from her crib to a toddler bed. Today we made the move. One concern was how well she’d be able to fall asleep when she was free to get up and when ever she wanted. Today that wasn’t an issue. For her afternoon nap and for her bed time, she climbed right in curled up with her turtle pillow and fell asleep.
POD: shhh… Don’t tell Mommy
Sunday is mother’s day so today Jacob brought home the project he made for his mommy at school. They were so cute I couldn’t wait till Sunday to share them, just do let Melissa see them
.
POD Happy Birthday, To Me!
Today I turned 34, so we had a nice family dinner with a home made Ice cream cake for desert. Melissa and Jacob did an excellent job with the cake. It’s nice to know that Ice Cream cakes are a treat Violet wont have to miss out on because of her allergies.

POD: Election Day
Today Canada picks new leaders, and so off I went to vote. So My picture today is of my ballet and the tough question I faced. Who to vote for? I posted this as the Polls close so I don’t know the results yet. It seems like the most interesting election in a long time, so I think I’ll skip the first hour of analysis and go for a run. Perhaps I’ll post again when I get back, and we know what our parliament will look like.

POD: 10k Race Day (57:18.3)
Today on the eve of the anniversary of my first run I took part in my second race. The distance was double my last race, the Harry Rosen 5k Spring Run-Off. Today’s race was the Sporting Life 10k. My Time was 57:18.3, only .4 seconds behind Dan’s time of 57:17.9. The running felt great, our pace was 5 Minutes and 44 Seconds a km. Making it the fast I’ve ever run for a sustained amount of time. Now I’ve got 2 weeks to prepare to more than double todays race distance. On May 15th I run the Mississauga Half-Marathon. You can pledge your support here. I’ll be writing more about it in the coming days.
