Today was Halloween, a night the kids have looked forward to for months. Dressing up and collecting candy is a great way to spend an evening. We were out for a couple of hours and by the end Violet was unable to manage the walk between houses. At the end even Jacob was ready to call it a night and head home to enjoy some of the candy. This evening after getting ready for bed Jacob and I sat down for some PS3 gaming. Not wanting to send him to be with images of Modern Warfare we just played a few levels of Little Big Planet. It’s amazing to see how much better he’s getting with the controller. As I write this and think about different games we might play, I realise that I have the perfect game to play with him next time. Portal 2, has multi-player and plays like a First Person shooter without the killer. Now that we have 2 controls I think we’ll play that next.
Today Violet’s Ballet class allowed the parents in for the last 10 minutes of class to see a little of what they have been doing these last few weeks. She was very excited to show Mommy and Daddy. It was great to see how much fun she has in her class. In November we’ll be able to watch a full class, that should be fun.
Violet and Melissa headed out to Toys’r’us today to pick up a few things. While there Violet found herself a little horse to ride. It it wasn’t so big I think she might have found it under the tree Christmas morning.
Today after school the kids headed over to my Mom’s for some play time and stayed for dinner. Melissa and I used the time to head out to one of the local Thai restaurant for a nice dinner. It was nice to have a dinner out, just the two of us. Thanks Mommy for watching the kids while we had a grown-up meal.
Today my iTab arrived for my Toronto Waterfront Marathon Medal. It adds my name and time to the medal I received after completing the race. It’s offered as an extra when you sign up for a race, I didn’t do it for my first two runs, but for my Half Marathon in the spring I did and once I had it on the medal, I knew I wanted to get it for all my future races. It just adds a nice personal touch to my medal.
Today after making Jacob’s lunch I took some time to pack a second lunch for myself. I spent the day at a clients setting up a new computer and providing other types of support. So it was nice not to have to head out looking for a place to have lunch. Plus, I really liked having the cookies as a treat after I was done my sandwich.
Today we have a picture of Jacob showing off an invitation from one of his classmates. It’s the first School Birthday party my little man will be going too. I guess it’s just another one of life’s milestones.
Sunday dinner is a tradition that we as a family don’t get to share as often as I would like, between Melissa’s work schedule and life’s unexpected events. It’s hard to find time to sit down as a family and enjoy a Meal together. Tonight we did just that, with a delicious roast and potatoes.
