POD: The Finals

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Today was the first game of Jacob’s house league finals.  It was a hard game for his team,  they played the third game of their first round series Friday night at 7:30 and were back on the Ice  today at 11:30. He’s team played hard, but in the end they fell 4-3. The other team winning it on the last shift. Today’s picture is of Jacob getting on the Ice for his second shift of the game.

POD: New Shoes

From Pictures of the Day 2012

On our trip to the mall the other night (POD: Shopped out!) we picked up a new pair of shoe’s for Jacob. I wasn’t sure if he’d like the higher cut, but when he saw the lights on the side he had to have them. I’m happy to say after a couple of days he still loves them.  Now if they last as long as his last pair of Geox, mommy and daddy will be happy.

POD: Practicing for the Clarkson cup

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Today felt like a summer day, so our little family spent most of the morning and a good chunk of the afternoon enjoying it.  My picture of the day is Violet showing off her Hockey skills. On day’s like this it’s so hard to pick which picture to use, but after yesterday’s hockey picture I thought I’d show off Violet’s growing love of the game too.

POD: Waiting for the Big Game

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Today was Jacob’s second play-off game, his team won the first one and a win today would have put them in the finals. I captured this picture while he waited to head out onto the ice. Unfortunately his team couldn’t over come playing 4 players down, 2 on each line. They tried hard, coming back from a 3 goal defecate to tie it at 5-5 before the other team won the game on the final shift. They play a tie breaker game Friday to see who will go for the championship.

POD: I can do it myself Daddy

From Pictures of the Day 2012

Walking along the Parking barriers is something every kids does, I know I did it when I was a kid, still do on occasion. For little kids it’s sometimes hard so often both my kids would hold onto my hand while they walked along. I don’t remember when Jacob stopped needing to hold my hand, but tonight Violet managed to do it on her own. It seems my little girl is growing up. At least I can take some comfort in the fact that she still needed me to keep her stead when she fist stepped onto the barrier.
