Today was a bit of a crazy day, it started with me heading out of the house around 8 for a long run. Today that ment a 15k run, that took me 2 hours to run. I got home to some deliciously fresh Blue Berry muffins, that I enjoyed before heading out with the family for a 15k bike ride and picnic. We rode out to the same park as yesterday, Melissa and I relaxed in the sun as the kids played in the playground, before we enjoyed our lunch and headed home. For my picture today I went a little different. I took so many shots of Jacob climbing up the ‘Invisible Slide’ that I couldn’t choose which to use, so I used them all in a collage. I must say I was quite tired by the end of our ride.
Today the family climbed on to our bikes, while Melissa and I climbed on our bikes, and the kids hopped into the trailer and we headed out for a ride (View on RunKeeper). We paused at a park and let the kids play before heading back home. While there we decided that we should do it again tomorrow with a picnic.
Today we have a picture I took of Violet with her Nan, at Nan’s birthday breakfast. I was glad that I didn’t have to go to the office today and my first appointment was at 1pm at a clients, so I could take my mom out to celebrate her birthday.
Today Violet got a big girl bike, so tonight after dinner her and Jacob had a race. Well Violet can’t quite ride her new bike yet, so it wasn’t much of a race. She tried hard to get it to go, but couldn’t quite get it.
Last week I showed a picture of a couple of trees stumps in front of our place. I was surprised by how tall the stumps were. I’m happy to report that they cut down the stumps, but beyond that, they’ve removed one completely and are clearly working on the other one.
Tonight we have a picture of Melissa as she sets out on her third run this month. She’s giving the running thing a try and I want to do everything I can to support her. It’s exciting that sometime in the future we could be lining up at the start of a race together.
I took today’s picture as we were walking home from Jacob’s school. It amused me that the kids were dressed so much alike, so I tried to capture the moment. The kids weren’t really interested in daddy taking more pictures, but I think I got a good shot.
Today we have a picture of Melissa, sporting her one of a kind macaroni necklace and pin that Jacob gave to her. Of course you can’t miss the flowers that Jacob and Violet picked out for her. Even with Melissa working this afternoon we managed to have a great morning as a family.
On Tuesday I had a picture of Jacob posing with the bat in hand. Today I have a picture of my little guy hitting the ball. I’m really enjoying these saturday morning games, just have to remember to bring a chair next week.
Today while walking to a special lunch for Jacob, he asked for sushi. We saw some people from the city testing the local splash pad. It’s nice to see them getting it ready for summer, I know our little family will be spending many afternoons enjoying it.
